It's crap really that any teachers feel nervous, but I'm getting the fear! I'm teaching a new GCSE course this time and my yr 11s will be getting results on Thursday. I am not sure what to expect and I'm really nervous!

Oh Lancashire that is terrible, I am HOD English and you need to find a different dept. We rotate sets so if you have a bottom set in Yr 11 you will have an upper one in Year 10. More importantly it is part of the job of HOD to help and support staff for example if any of ours had unfinished folders I take over and they finish after school with me. There are hundreds of lovely English dpt find one.

We use SISRA for our data analysis and it is brilliant.

If you have a password for the exam board website you can see the results from just after midnight tonight.

I am really really nervous. I taught 2 adult GCSE courses this year and it's my first experience of teaching (please don't blast me for being an unqualified teacher). I know I did as much as I could, but I was pretty much left to it so I'm really worried my students won't get the results they are hoping for. By Thursday morning I'll be a bag of nerves. Does it get easier with experience? I am planning to apply for my PGCE next year and I'm hoping I won't spend every summer holiday obsessing about results.

Rugby- I think it does get easier... I didn't feel this nervous last year but all the government changes this year have made this a particularly nervous summer. I'm sure once I get used to linear it'll be less scary.

Someone at work has the results and said that apparently our head went grey when he saw them. According to the results, they are apparently out lowest for 4 years (I expected that given the cohort). Special measures for us when ofsted come as we are currently a 3.

Rugbylovingmum · 21/08/2014 09:06

Phew, checked the results and there are one or two disappointing grades but they are pretty good overall. I am very relieved and really pleased for my students. Now back to planning for next year Smile.

Hope you are all happy with the results.

No surprises for me either which is a huge relief!

No suprised but not exactly impressed. Only 2 out of 15 on target for English and 1 for Film. But then again one of my students didn't turn up to one of his film exams and did no coursework. Joys. Several F and E grades for English and a few Us for film. (argh!!!!)

My HOD is supposed to be emailing us all our results but I haven't had any emails yet from him. I'm really nervous about them because I've got the C/D borderline group that will decide the % of A*-C grades for Maths. Last year we had record results (when I also had the C/D borderline group) but I'm a little concerned that this group won't have done as well. I wish my HOD would hurry up and send the email, but I think he wants to analyse them first.

We were completely taken by surprise. We got our best ever results even though last years results were brilliant. Our VA is up massively and both English and maths A-C were very very high. I'd been expecting my subject to be 65-70% and got 82%.

TheFallenMadonna · 21/08/2014 17:05

Surprised but in a good way. Top end of my expectations in one subject, above them in the other. Phew.

Dragonlette · 22/08/2014 00:20

I'm really pleased with mine now I've got the email. All except 2 got their targets and tbh their targets were really challenging.
