Has anyone had any racist type curriculum requests from parents?

like "Don't teach them Islam or Islamic history" ( this was in contrast to medieval UK).

I ask as we have had two recently and I am wondering if there is some campaign about.

i think they just bloody learn what they knew would be on the curriculum when they joined.

I've taught a family of 5dc who have tried to start a ruck over this one with each new dc.

I don't teach RE, PSHCE or History, but two of the kids have been in my tutor groups.

By dc3, Dad was instructing them to turn their chair away from the teacher, stick fingers in ears & hum, as soon as Islam was mentioned .

I don't think that's a co-ordinated thing, though; the eldest child started 15 years ago. This particular parent just happens to be an EDL-sympathising fuckwit.

I had one set of parents who removed the child from school when we were teaching the Holocaust because "It was all a lie". All through the IIWW lessons he would spout crap you knew he was hearing from the dad.

We had several parents refuse to let their children visit a mosque on a (primary) school trip.

One child was told, "They'll make you take off your shoes and they'll nick them."

Yes - had a few requesting their children not to be taught anything about Islam at my previous school.

I don't see how that's racist.

My dd didn't go to visit a mosque on a school trip because she didn't want to cover her hair. I respected her wishes and refused to allow her to go.
