Getting hot in lesson 1 ?

I'm not menopausal. But every p1 I heat up. Is this adrenalin (fgs) or what? Why is this

Well, you know what happens in our school so I am ALWAYS too hot (except for my fingers and toes, which are always frozen). All I can say is that I find natural fibres help and I keep a mini deodorant spray in my pencil case.

I heat up every day too. I wear summer clothes all year round and open as many windows as possible (not many despite one wall being almost completely glass)

I also find that making the pupils take off blazers and jumpers makes the room less overheated

I'm another who's always too not while teaching. My class hate me for the constantly open windows. I just assume it's the adrenaline of the day kicking in. I also keep deodorant on me (which proved very useful last summer when we were ambushed by wasps in the classroom)

I put a plastic waterbottle in the freezer the night before, about 1/4 fill of water. It freezes o'night, I top up with tap water in the morning and sip in P1 to keep cool

Depends on the class, but also all lesson with Y9

I get in at 7, open all windows and doors, and keep a big deoderant in my drawer. This genuinely wasn't a problem, even with south facing classrooms with Year 9, years back, but all of a sudden I find myself in early menopause in a year 5 class and it really, really is. I even wear vest tops under shirts and swap them at lunch.

My policy with Year 9 in a south facing classroom was: lots of plug-ins, open window RULE, even in January, and no shut doors, ever.

Sorry to hijack your thread with the YP diversion OP maybe I should start another thread for that. One other possibility re the P1 thing, probably does not apply to you, but have a stressful time recently and forgetting to eat, then have a glass or two of wine in the late evening, and next morning do feel flushy until I have had some of my iced water - this thread has made me think about that, so will try to alter that pattern.

Plug-ins sent my Aspie ballistic, took the teachers a while to work out what was going on.
I do all these things, because I am menopausal and overheat now. Cold water to drink, summer clothes, windows open. One classroom, we had to have a couple of vertical fans in warm weather because the room was unbearable for the children as well.
