I am posting this in Employment too but thought some of you might have specialist insight. I have spent 10 years working in University UG student recruitment (Oxford Uni & Nottingham) and now work advising students applying to US universities. Basically spend a lot of time helping students making decisions about the Higher Education choices
However, long term planning I am really keen to work with students in a school setting but struggling with how to get in to it. My main problem is that I can't do the PG Dip in Careers Advising (OU) without already being a Careers Adviser - catch-22 anyone?
Anyone got any advice about how they got into this field- I have applied to volunteer with a 'back into work' charity but any other thoughts/ approaches gratefully received.
Hope you are all having a good first day back
TIA
