Clothes for an interview

I am Canadian and currently teach in North Africa in an international school. I have an interview for a school in Shanghai and wondered what I should wear. The interview is in London and the school follows the British system.
Would you wear a suit? Dress and boots? Trousers and a sweater? Or something else. I teach reception age kids, so a suit is totally impractical, but I will buy one if I need to.
My current school is pretty laid back clothes wise and I think I am out of the loop. Thanks

I would probably wear a dress with a smart jacket over. Are you expected to teach in your interview? If so, a suit for teaching reception age children is impractical. Good luck!

Interview in London? Is it in a smart hotel as the school is abroad?

If so, definitely a suit. Good luck! Let us know how you get on Smile

A suit.

Definitely 'business dress.' It does not matter if it is impractical; it is what is expected and when you are teaching the lesson you can remove the jacket if you wish, but having a jacket means you will look professional for the actual interview.

You do not know the dress code of the school yet - if you get the job, you can adjust accordingly.

So I bought a suit jacket, black top and patterned skirt. I now have 2 interviews this week...hopefully things will go well.

Thanks for the suggestions!
