Missing the structure of the school day?

Hipe you've clicked on because you are because, for some reason I am! Otherwise, feel free to tell me to get a life!

As a result, I have split the day into the four periods we have at school and assigned a group of tasks to each one - otherwise I'll spebd all holidays lying around reading.

It's currently break time so I am sitting outside in the garden with a cuppa but period one was exercise and shower (PE!) and next period is household management (ie cleaning, bills, etc). P3 is science (ie lesson planning) and p4 is enrichment (whatever hobby I'm in the mood for - currently making a top).

So I was wondering if anyone else does this when they have nothing planned (possibly less rigidly than I have!).

I finished a couple of hours ago! Yeeeeeha!

Parts of the midlands were still at school until today and somebody else i know doesn't break up until tomorrow.

I take great joy in not wearing a watch when I'm on holiday. It really pleases me not to have to time anything to the minute and I'm happy to sit around doing nothing if I feel like it (and can).....
Next year's planner and first lesson are already sorted out so I can truly forget about work and chill out.

I broke up today, yay!!! I am starting a new school in Sep, so don't have much to do in the hols for once . I had a lovely last day at my current school, feeling very blessed.

I can already feel my body going into it's "first two days of the holiday shutdown special", whereby I get weird sneezless flu. And then recover

Monday and Tuesday I went into work to do things to be prepared for Sept. I've discovered Pinterest and LOADS of brilliant ideas that I wanted to do, plus a few organisational things that I wanted to do too, to make my life easier next year.

Today, we lay in and then went to a local woodland park for a walk, picnic, clay modelling art and an ice cream. :)

Tomorrow is opticians and signing up the kiddies to the library reading quest for the summer.

I start off with good intentions for the hols of lots of jobs to do, then lose interest steam in the second week of the holiday and then just chill out.

I have a holiday planner though - with appointments, plans of when to go to our caravan, fixed dates that have been booked to do different things etc.

I love my school routine and am quite lost without it. I will be going back in quite gladly to sort the office out. One of my colleagues has decided to come and help! You all feel so differently about working in the holidays.

Here in Norfolk we only broke up yesterday. Hoorah! Exhausted beyond belief. We're having a chill day today but I like some structure now that I have children to occupy. Pre DCs I'd happily sit around doing nothing. No such luck now!

I love not having a routine. I sort of have a loose plan that I put together in the morning while lying in bed of what I would like to do before the end of the day (sometimes that is just to read, though :) ).
Even then I don't stress if it isn't getting done.

The best thing about the holidays is not having to stick to a timetable.
