The statement doesn't imply she knew he directly abused them, it could also indicate she was aware of him viewing the abuse materials

But i just don't understand. She says she found out for the first time in 2018 that her dad was a potential paedophile.( Which is good as it means he didnt show any signs before then to her). And she found out from the Met or RAVEC which is a fairly privileged source. But she didnt warn anyone including her siblings who had children of their own. Why would you not tell anyone but instead keep it quiet?

And then go on Oprah and lie? And Harry lied in Netflix? And complain for years about his family asking about what the baby would look like? When her own father was thinking something very different about children (allegedly). It just doesn't make sense.

Terrible for her now and terrible for her children particularly but I think her statement was a mistake as it's put her as a person who knew.

I feel bad for the alleged victims waiting 8 years for justice, if that's truly how long it's taken to investigate.

That people feel terrible about victims of sexual abuse goes without saying.

Meghan was made aware of allegations about the man she had previously loved and been close to and she did the right thing by cutting him out of her life.

How much turmoil would any of us be in to find out our beloved dad abuses kids?

My point was, she didn't 'admit' she knew her dad abused kids, she was made aware of allegations.

She cut him out before she knew though. The timeline doesn't work.

NautilusLionfish · 23/10/2026 22:47

For those saying she could have stopped it, how? She wasnt given names and addresses, she is not a CSA investigations specialist, she was only warned allegations not given proof of events. Stop giving her a burden she bears no responsibility for. Ask the Met what they did with the info. Did they oass it on to relevant authorities.
Its crazy people want to hold her accountable but claim police could have done nothing cos the csa didnt happen in the uk. No. They could have referred it to relevant jurisdictions.

NautilusLionfish · 23/10/2026 22:43

In my country in school we used to have English comprehension. We would read text, analyse it, separate fact from opinions, etc.
She did not know. She was given letter telling her accusations had been made. She trusted police were dealing with it.

I agree. If I were her I would "clarify" her statement tomorrow as it currently doesn't put her in a great light. She was too quick to try and use the situation to absolve her of criticism for cutting her father off and didn't think it through.

Who gave the Met police the information?

Right, but that's nothing to do with Meghan. You're surely not putting blame on her for things her father nay have done?

Absolutely not. What I am questioning is why 8 years later this man hasn't been charged. My focus is on the alleged victims.

Those wishing to portray Meghan as anything other than a victim in this situation need to take a long, hard and honest look at their own motivations. The vast majority of the world doesn’t see it that way and rightly so.
If you want to come out of this looking good, I’d sit this one out. Trying to paint Meghan as anything other than a victim here really isn’t a good look.

Was Meghan a victim? If she only found out in 2018?

Its terrible for her and her family obviously. But she wasn't being abused herself as she didn't know about him until 2018. We need to remember the actual real victims here. Rather than only having sympathy for the person who immediately released a statement saying she had known for years.

Scuttlingupabove · 23/10/2026 22:27

He wasn't in the UK though.

Are the FBI going to let him continue to abuse children for 8 years? Before even arresting him? No.

Thailand is chock full of fat middle aged American disgusting men sniffing round children. The FBI would be there full time if they were to investigate all of them. Of course they should stop it. They don't.

What’s very interesting about your posts is that they are full of poor Megan but not one mention of the victims. Think about that. Oh and you also don’t get to tell people to sit out. Your opinion is no more important than others. You also don’t speak for the vast majority of the world unless of course you have proof to back up your claim?

It looks like a lot of evidence has suddenly come to light as a result of the son handing it over. How long did he know about this considering he was living with him and had all the stuff in his flat?

This whole thing is very fishy. The son suddenly highlighting it this week (after being cut off financially by his dad), the Sun conveniently being there to witness it all, the immediate response from MM. The fact M&H haven't followed this up with the police since they were informed of the initial letter sent by an assumed crazy, have sat in countless interviews and said nothing about it, though they've not stopped blabbing about his family. Now they're back in the UK needing buy in, and money fast. None of it makes sense.

A victim of media hesdlines, rmemeber Piers zmoegab sticking boot in for not going to see her Dad when he was ill, fanning the flames for more hatred against her nkt to mention all the comments made by keyboard warriors who thought they knew better. Plenty of harassment and bullying went towards her that went on for years for her cutting off her Dad.

Of course the victims abused by her Dad deserve every support and sympathy going. Two things can still be true its not one or the other.

Oh you know they didn't follow it up, please do share a those private details you have knowledge of. Did they grt an update from the MET on whoever was carrying out investigations? You clearly know all of this so tell us

No. This is all made up to suit people's narrative about the RF being racist when they are not. Much like MM did. Yawn.

What Prince Phillip is actually reported to have said is 'One steps out with actresses, one doesn't marry them'.

Lol, I very much did read that comment in the DM. And if you read my comment carefully, I said nothing about the royal family being racist but about some critics disliking Meghan on the basis of her race. Among other factors.

Not like it matters. Whether or not you or I think the royal family are racist, we have no idea what they are actually like and never will.

Talking about Piers Morgan, I wonder what that disgusting oaf has to say about all this, seeing that he has publicly championed Thomas Markle in the past?

Eta - never mind, just checked. He's blaming her for not saying anything in 2018. How predictable 😂

DaisyDooley · 23/10/2026 23:29

So we are supposed to believe that Meghan -who left her father to flounder before the wedding, didn’t introduce him to Harry and expected him to walk her down the aisle when he was only due to fly in two days before the ‘spectacle’ , stopped speaking to him . Utterly cut him off.
Then she finds out through a letter sent to the Met (why? Why the British
police? Markle isn’t British nor did he live here) that her dad is accused of being a peadophile.
Who sent this letter?
She sits on this news. But writes to him “dear daddy” about the wedding.
Then, two years later she discusses her father on OW going into detail about the hoo -ha before the wedding,
Why would you even bring him up if you thought he was a peado?
Tgen -still no arrest of Mr Markle, or seizing of items - Harry in an interview says how she lost her dad because of him. Why would he mention Markle? Why on earth would you bring him up? Still no arrest though.
Markle then moves to the Phillipenes - how is he allowed to do this? Oh that’s right , there’s no arrest but Meghan is still keeping her kids and herself away from him without ever even discussing the “letter”with him, despite him not being arrested, questioned, devices checked, investigated, seemingly no other complaints or reports about him.
All this time and no newspaper anywhere in th3 world gets a whiff of this or investigates him.
Zoom to now - all over the papers and Meghan is saying “See! That’s why I kept my kids away”. Why though Meghan? There was one unsubstantiated letter until your half brother -who seemingly has been financially cut off - found boxes and boxes of ‘stuff’. Boxes Markle senior hasn’t seen for two years.

It all smells to me. There’s something very odd going on.

MeghanAndTheSeals · 23/10/2026 23:29

I mean, in theory, I guess you’re technically right. But it appears there’s been no investigation, so that’s kind of a moot point.

Have you asked the vast majority of the world in order to speak for them?
You haven’t asked me -unless you were the call I got from a heavily accented man called ‘Dave’ who reckoned he was from Sky - it was around 7pm if that jogs your memory.

It can take a long time to prosecute. There has to be an investigation and getting digital forensic details can take a long time. Then there can be a long wait for a trial date.
It can take years in the UK.

For some reason, my comment above didn’t quote the post I was replying to.
