Just checking you are aware all photos of her in the press are touched up and without the airbrushing she looks closer to her age?

Yes many people don’t realise this. Every now and then an unfiltered photo will appear and she looks like someone in her late 40s, so I disagree that she looks good for her age.

I also think she dresses in a way that ages her too, which doesn’t help. Shes got a great figure and she used to wear lovely dresses but is increasingly wearing dresses styled for women 20 years older.

whattheflipz · 16/05/2026 02:23

Didn't this Italy visit go well! She looked stunning as usual.

merrymelody · 16/05/2026 03:26

If I was in her position, I’d be doing as much as I could to look as flawless as possible. Knowing that other women would be examining me and discussing every aspect of my appearance. Ugh.

I think Kate is a beautiful woman and also from what I can see as a stranger, a lovely person as well. But I don’t think she’s aged very well, perhaps because she is so slim, and I think her makeup also ages her. But that’s ok! She looks her age. And is extremely well groomed and poised.

I think it’s a shame that Sophie’s face has changed so much after treatments. Edward is “allowed” to look older as is Princess Anne.

Sophie's face has changed? In what way?

I know. What an awful life. Everyone poring over her appearance, scrutinising her children and marriage, speculating on her health. Calling her lazy. Just who would want that.

Lifestooshort71 · 16/05/2026 09:58

I don't believe Sophie has had work done to her face (apart from posh facials etc). She has always seemed very grounded and happy in her skin to me and has only smartened up her outfits because of the constant criticism from the media. I'd be interested to see some evidence of this 'work', happy to admit to being wrong!

Me too!

She has access to hundreds of millions of pounds, the best of everything, and barely has to lift a finger. Does wonders for the skin!

Dora26 · 16/05/2026 15:46

But oh sooo thin…

Not ironically when pictured next to Italian women! , so maybe it’s a U.K. women issue?

BasiliskStare · 16/05/2026 16:19

I have never seen C in real life. To me she always ( in public photos ) looks very well groomed (takes money and time) I I imagine she has all she needs to make the most of what she has been given & she does invariably look nice.

The person I have seen in RL (at a book signing) who had just beautiful luminous skin - worthy of note type lovely skin - was Nigella Lawson.

Bufftailed · 16/05/2026 16:25

Dermatologist, hairdresser, expensive products, nutrition advice, PT…nothing any ‘normal’ person can access

Not2identifying · 16/05/2026 16:28

I think Kate's cancer diagnosis might mean that she avoids some of the more invasive beauty treatments like plastic surgery. I think even Botox would feel unhealthy for somebody wanting to be as natural and healthy as possible. I'd rather watch her grow old without horribly uncomfortable or painful interventions.

your not ugly - your just poor.

I didn’t think filtered or photoshopped pictures were allowed in the press? Hence the huge debacle about the Mother’s Day photo?

She is very slim, but she certainly doesn’t look absolutely bone thin like the crop of current Hollywood celebrities who appear to be using ozempic, they make the “heroin chic” of the 90’s look normal in comparison.

atamlin · 16/05/2026 19:45

She doesn’t look how she looks in the press photos in real life.

I can see all of those if I want to. What a load of rubbish, that someone normal cant see them. Most in my social circle it wouldn’t be unusual at all, and I’m fairly run of the mill. I’ve sought all those out in the past. Some I still do.

Nutrition advice for rheumatoid arthritis, vestibular migraines and ibs

PT to help to said RA

Hairdresser well that’s obvious and I’ve seen trichologist for thinning hair due to RA drugs

dermatologist due to thinning hair and for regular mole checks

Products I swear by cerave and Elizabeth Arden advanced night repair and bare minerals complexion rescue

At 44, Kate is still relatively young. You're acting as if it's some incredible achievement for a woman to have good skin at that age, but it's really not. Add in the fact that she's rich and barely works, with the best personal chefs, make up artists, dermatologists, botoxologists (?) etc and it would be more of a surprise if she didn't look good.

Contrarymary30 · 17/05/2026 07:59

She has access to the best of everything available so I'd say money .

CatsOnCushions · 17/05/2026 08:03

She looks to be in her 40s, which she is. Shes hardly old so why wouldn’t her skin still look good?

Some manipulation is ok, to improve the lighting, quality etc of the image. Just not to mislead

The lighting is that will make the biggest difference. If you compare say a photo from a wedding taken by a guest and one taken by the professional photographer, the latter will look a lot more flattering because the professional will then have adjusted the light balance, made the image slightly sharper etc.

That is different to the very extensive Photoshopping that was undergone for the mothers day photo

It’s literally her job to look good so I presume she spends more time on that than the average person. Plus I imagine having access to a private swimming pool and personal trainer, maybe a private chef, helps the glow from within. As does having staff so that you are not pulled in every direction all at once!

I doubt your hairdresser does your hair every time you step out and travels wirh you, I doubt you have a stylist planning all your outfits, a beautician applying your make up everytime.
