Andrew flipped a switch…

Andrew really flipped the switch towards his final withdrawal from the Royal Family. On the steps of Westminster Cathedral when he tried to sidle up to Prince William and engage in conversation… William’s look was game over pal.

Andrew was so flippant in his engagement with him, it’s like mate don’t look at him don’t fucking talk to him. But Andrew could not help himself and William wasn’t going to just let that hang.

That's appalling but how on earth did Andrew have the final say-so before publication.

Yeah, I am not buying that. The Head of State's communications are allowed to be tampered with by his younger brother? What sort of tin pot organisation are they running?

Was it the King's statements or was it the ones released by the late Queen? If it was the latter i can see how it got away with it. She does seem to have been blind to his faults.

His mentality really confused me. Why on earth did he give the appearance of wanting back in to public events? If he’d stopped showing up anywhere (obviously I’m not including his mother’s funeral in that), he’d probably have got less attention. I suppose just an arrogant sense of being untouchable.

This, plus he really is very dim.

There's a lot of talk about the body language here but it's simple, really. William as future King cannot be seen being friendly towards Andrew by the public (the media would have an absolute field day with any sign of friendliness between them). It is rumoured that William dislikes Andrew personally, anyway.

I think KC is a diplomat and was asked by his mother to look after A&S. We seemed to see more of A&S after KC moved into the 'top job'. I suspect he thought the worst was over and that A&S being seen with the family could do no harm. In other words, they tried the 'keep calm and carry on' approach'.

Charles is having to appease his brother and his son. As with Harry, he wants things settled so he can concentrate on the things that really matter to him and die knowing everything is in place for William to ease on the throne.

Just couldn’t help himself , if he had kept his head down and gone in through a side door or similar it wouldn’t have been as repulsive as it looked
but there in broad daylight is his entitlement on show
others around him have enabled his behaviour and it’s about time they spoke up
vile people him and Sarah

Apparently it had been arranged that he go through a side door and the Kents had considered not inviting him. But up he popped, bold as brass.

He wants things ‘settled’ = silenced - so that he can concentrate on protecting the BRF brand and hoarding wealth.

He has not acted with any moral or ethical compulsion at any point. He’s only been spurred into action after a decade of trying to minimise and silence when the timing of the release of the Epstein emails and VG and AL books have converged and compounded the focus on him and what he knew and when - especially with the heckler - no where to hide now.

AMW's inability to read the room is staggering. Even when William politely snubs him, he still leans forward to try to be part of William's conversation with Tim Laurence. A mix of entitlement, arrogance and utter stupidity I suspect.

He’s smart enough to work out that being seen to be pally with the King and the Heir gets him more loot from oligarchs and potentates.

His daughters are 37 and 35 and are in receipt of loot too, plus jewellery and assets. Beatrice is a business contact of Andrew’s in the Middle East - she calls herself a ‘private equity analyst’.

Eugenie seems to have some allegedly odd things going on with her anti-trafficking charity, with a recent unexplained large donation appearing in the bank and accounts due. Where did that reported £1.3m come from? What has she claimed in expenses over the years?

She never criticises her father. She noticeably plays all sides.

They may all be a bit academically ungifted but they’re very wily around money and gifts, (ab)using their styles and titles. They’ve also all been involved in arranging access to eg Buckingham Palace.

Oh no doubt an awful lot of hushing up goes on within that institution and always has done!

However, it is part of his job. The Crown at all costs must be protected.

How can Eugenie be a private equity analyst? She hasn’t got any qualifications!!

I've been thinking about that aspect over the last few days.

In any business, if grandad has a reasonable business ticking over and a son working for him, as well as some grandchildren around to inherit the firm/farm, he's not likely to feel good if he messes up the whole business and puts his son and grandchildren out of what he sees as their 'inheritance'.

I know some people will respond with the usual comments that they're only in it for the money, but every monarch has the responsibility of doing his/her best for the Monarchy/Institution.

It’s Beatrice who does. She has been back to the Middle East quite recently in fact.

Does anyone have a link to the video?

I've seen the video. I'm sure the one being circulated now is shorter than the one that was initially available, which looked a lot more chummy.

I agree with you.
I watched the filming of this when it was first released and Prince William did indeed appear chummy with Andrew.
There was a thread about it:
