It’s been 14 hours since the launch of the 2024 Rose. Nothing has sold out. This is despite it being designed again as a scarcity drop, so it can’t be argued she’s finally got her stock levels right.

  • As ever stated the wine launch going ‘live’ at on the 5th August. Language designed to get you to rush and buy. Just like all this SM shopping you get now.
  • Meghan put out a message many hours ago, stating that they have so much more stock (sad clapback to stuff not shifting) but hurry and be quick because it’s selling fast!!! (It’s clearly not)
  • This launch however, has attracted very little press compared to previous drops

The scarcity gimmick is already tired and because she’s been absent from SM for 2 months…save for a few stock images/videos- she’s lost any momentum she had. She’s putting in bare minimum and her customer base feel it. She’s checked out.

There’s been talk of another series of WLM 3 and Meg getting a new NF contract, but I think that is just to fill the void until she can get WLM2 out. At which point, we will find out if there is any truth in any further deals.

The reason why I doubt WLM3, is that for continuity, you would need the same venue. But the home is now being used to to host weddings etc, it’s no longer a private rental but one open to the public to rent. There’s no way Meg would film in that location now. In addition she would need to have gotten the go ahead already for WLM3 and be filming right now to be able to stick to a schedule. The fact that it isn’t already confirmed, it’s giving the signal that WLM is over (in addition to knowing NF deal is done)

Now if WLM is over, I don’t think she has the draw to pull people to As ever. She doesn’t engage with her fan base enough, she does the bare minimum of SM posts, which she hasn’t even achieved the last few months. The Shopmy page is dead too. This is why the new wine launch has barely registered and hasn’t sold out 14 hours later. Yes, there will be more stock but it’s been designed for a sell out so there won’t be huge numbers.

As ever I think will be slowly wound down. There will be WLM2, with maybe another 18 months of drops. Then like everything else, it will be dropped quietly. Everyone is starting to get a bit bored by the half hearted, very beige effort she’s put into her ‘business’ and have tuned out.

She will have to launch yet another version of herself very soon. We’ve had actress, feminist, activist, producer, philanthropist….now female founder. God knows what’s next!

We're all just guessing here, guided by our own confirmation biases, aren't we? This isn't a serious subject for serious people - we're all guilty of our own petty obsessions !

What are you talking about?????

You have cited various articles. One poster stated that these were puff pieces. You asked for proof. It’s been pointed out to you that the Vogue article has printed patently untrue statements about the sales of the 2024 rose, designed to make the As ever wine line look like a runaway success story. Why? Because it’s a puff piece.

I have zero idea what you are talking about above

She should just flog clothes.

I thought she was flogging clothes?

Thedom · 07/08/2025 07:59

For those who believe magazines running puff pieces are doing so unswayed. This is how PR works (I took Elle as an example)

PR Agencies with Elle Placements:

Level Up PR:_
Specializes in media placement in Elle and other publications, focusing on strategic PR and brand recognition.

9-Figure Media:_
Offers guaranteed publicity and media placements, including Elle and other luxury and lifestyle publications.

Spynn:_
A fashion PR agency that secures placements in Elle, Vogue, and other high-profile magazines.

Baden Bower:_
Offers guaranteed media coverage, including placements in publications like Forbes, Vogue, and Business Insider.

Key Considerations for PR Placement:

Tailored Pitches:
Agencies craft unique pitches for each publication, aligning the brand's message with the publication's audience and tone.

Media Relationships:
Building strong relationships with editors and journalists is crucial for securing placements.

Strategic Media Placement:
Agencies strategically place brands in publications to maximize their reach and impact.

Tangible Results:
PR efforts should aim to translate media coverage into concrete business results, such as increased sales.

Vogue, for good measure.

Don't forget they have hired an army of PR specialists on both sides of the Atlantic, while the war room are otherwise occupied, they still need to push her brand.

Well, the Sussexes are certainly skilled at using PR tactics and securing product placements in key publications. Sounds like smart business sense to me.

I totally agree with you, however it is always good to be mindful of those strategies, and those articles linked above are not genuine reviews of the product or the brand,

The Tatler has a nice puff piece free of sneer.

Meghan Markle launches a new As Ever product to join her line-up of sell-out kitchen supplies
The Duchess of Sussex has seen her lifestyle business grow from strength to strength over the last year

www.tatler.com/article/meghan-markle-launches-as-ever-rose-2024-vintage

The piece is absolutely mocking her word salad - there are no opinions or assessment from the journalist - just hilarious direct 'quotes' from the As Ever 'newsletter' - clearly MM herself took on the copy-writing.

‘Oh, how we love seeing the world through rose coloured glasses,’ read the caption to an evocative post on As Ever's Instagram page, which showed a glass of pale pink wine being poured by the beach. ‘Rosé coloured glasses? Perhaps even better.’

‘Goodness in a glass. Right around the corner…’ read the tantalising caption.

"...in the words of an As Ever newsletter, ‘evokes the same effortlessly elegant notes of our debut vintage: delicately balanced, with soft notes of stone fruit, a gentle minerality and a lasting finish’. The brand claims that this latest bottle is ‘reminiscent of the finest Provençal styles’ and that the ‘thoughtfully crafted blend is perfect for summer’s end’.

"Finally, customers could get their hands on that famous raspberry preserve (perfect for a ‘romantic breakfast in bed’, Meghan recommended, flower sprinkles (the Duchess suggested they be paired with an omelette), and crêpe mix (for ‘date night with your beloved’)."

These are such a piss-take - surprised you missed that!

Vogue, Tatler and Elle rely on click-bait as much as any publication in such competitive times - MM's name (- and mockery) achieves that for them - there is no way that their subscribers would aspire to and associate with her brand or these products. I do think if she sold skincare / make-up with Daniel Martin she would do well - I am always immpressed by her skin and make-up - so if she could bottle some of that I would be happy to purchase.

You may be right about the piss-take but let’s be honest, elegant aristocrats are rarely the sharpest knives in the drawer, especially the ones blessed with particularly fine bone structures. I used to visit the Bond Street galleries and chat with the gazelle-like 'gels' who floated around them no doubt drawn there as much for the art as for the chance to meet very wealthy potential suitors. I remember once using the word schadenfreude, which caused much hilarity and confusion as they tried to figure out what it meant. They spoke beautifully, looked absolutely stunning but I suspect they’d take copy like that entirely at face value.

Thedom · 07/08/2025 08:49

There are no 'elegant aristocrats' buying Meghan Markle products, nor will they ever. You can be sure of that. So far, no celebs promoting her products either, some of the Instagram reposts of As Ever customers appear to show an unsophisticated and basic client base.

That made me laugh out loud. I suppose aristocrats always know exactly whose knees to bend to when the time comes even if Charles banned a bunch of them from his £100 million Coronation, along with their ermine robes and sceptres. And now Sir Keir is threatening to ban their families forever from the House of Lords. Quelle horreur!

No serious journalist or, for that matter, member of the public would spend their life obsessing over Meghan and Harry, so a certain leeway in journalistic integrity is no doubt in order. If a top sommelier declared it a winner, that would be good enough for me, if I were inclined to buy it. In any case, their work ethic particularly Meghan's and her persistent willingness to try new things, even at the risk of failure, is commendable. As we read in Spare, it echoes ‘Pa’s’ own dedication to work.

A certain leeway ? Lies then...

Anyone know how much Meghan will earn per bottle sold ?

Anyone know how much Meghan will earn per bottle sold ?

A pinch of "As Ever Himalyan Pink Salt Kitchen Condiments" may need to be taken but AI gave me this.

Meghan Markle's rosé wine, launched under her lifestyle brand As Ever, is priced at $30 per bottle. However, the exact profit she earns per bottle isn't publicly disclosed. Typically, wine profit margins can vary widely, but a general estimate is around 40% to 50% per bottle, depending on production costs, distribution, and marketing expenses.(The Sun)

Given this, if Meghan's rosé follows industry standards, she might earn approximately $12 to $15 per bottle sold. With the wine priced at $30, this would translate to a profit margin of about 40% to 50%. For instance, if 90,000 bottles were sold, the total revenue would be around $2.7 million. Applying a 40% profit margin, Meghan's earnings could be approximately $1.08 million from that batch. However, these figures are speculative, as actual profits depend on various factors including production costs, distribution channels, and marketing expenses.

It's worth noting that the wine is produced at Fairwinds Estate in Napa Valley, a renowned winery that also collaborates with other celebrities. This partnership suggests that Meghan's brand leverages established expertise in wine production, which could influence both the quality and cost structure of the product.(News.com.au)

In summary, while the precise profit Meghan Markle earns per bottle of her rosé wine isn't publicly available, industry standards suggest she could earn between $12 and $15 per bottle, translating to a profit margin of approximately 40% to 50%. These figures are estimates and actual profits may vary based on various business factors.

Aren't you the poster who mocked King Charles before about the ermine robes at the Coronation? But wouldn't comment on other monarchs' dress and tried to make it racist?

Now you are saying people wouldn't buy As Ever wine to keep on King Charles's side?
😂

AtIusvue · 07/08/2025 09:05

That hasn’t factored in at all NFs cut of any profits, which will be sizeable.

Of course because she has targeted her marketing towards an American market not a European one from the very beginning. She doesn’t care what Brits think of her!
