Interesting article, fairly balanced towards the key family members

Nicholas Witchell: ‘The Palace should have tried harder with Meghan’

Thanks for the share, very interesting read. His comments on Martin Bashir were interesting, I wonder what the interview with Diana would have been like if he’d done it.

Thanks. I agree fair summary and what I generally think too.
i think his comment that Harry was always going to leave and Meghan was too quick to think the communication team was working against her ( one Australian and two Americans so not grey men in stuffy suits at all) and they were both paranoid rings true.

what’s the betting he has his own royal podcast by June!

Thank you, @ThePoshUns . That was an interesting read. His perspective from so many years' observation is fascinating. I think what he has to say about Harry and Meghan rings true, he's obviously sympathetic, but he does think there was an element of paranoia. Good points about The Crown and Endgame.

Very interesting read, thank you.

I thought it was a very fair article, let down by a gossipy title. It's a pity journalists don't get to title their articles because they often give a bad impression of the content.

Anyway.

Loved what he had to say about The Crown, probably because the fact that some seem to think it's a documentary annoys me.

That's an excellent article, thanks very much for sharing.

No problem. Yes he had a unique perspective and gives a fair analysis of recent events.

Thanks so much @ThePoshUns , great article. I remember watching the news as a kid when he sat on the protester, with Sue Lawley shouting the news over the kerfuffle. I always thought it was extremely odd that he went into the royal correspondent job, as he always came across as a serious journalist and the royal stuff on the BBC is mostly puff; really found it hard and a bit off-putting when he went from speaking normally to using that somewhat fawning, reverential tone when reporting on the royals. Interesting to find out that he went into the role reluctantly, as well as to read his analysis on the events of recent years.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

I’m glad he stood up for H&M’s ex staff while still being balanced, I have always thought it was really unfair how people on social media talk about eg JK and SC because of H&M casting unfair aspersions in public.
