Nice photos! And you don't often get a pic with royal chest hair!! 😉

AbsolutePixels · 21/04/2023 12:15

Kate looks fabulous as usual. She's so photogenic.

Roussette · 21/04/2023 12:52

I have praised her a lot for outfits before but I don't think that dress does her any favours at all. It swamps her. And she looks like she has no bust in it.

I have seen her wearing fabulous outfits, just don't like that one.

I believe March 21st was the last spot of work the Dolittles mustered up. They can have a well-earned rest now until the Coronation.

KnickerlessParsons · 21/04/2023 13:35

She looks thinner than ever in that dress. Not unhealthily so, but still thin.

Exactly. Working a couple of hours a month doesn't deserve applause. And for those who will say 'oh but they do lots behind the scenes' - what? When? With whom? Nothing to show for it.

Absolutely not. They have an army of staff working behind the scenes doing all the briefing, preparation for visits, research, sorting outfits, travel arrangements etc.

I did laugh at the huge applause elsewhere for "man picks up phone and answers it" in the indian restaurant.

ShamedBySiri · 21/04/2023 13:44

Do people think it only counts as work if on a public visit?
I'm sure there's lots of preparations going in behind the scenes for the coronation, and in any case it has been school holidays and they quite rightly prioritise family time and the upbringing of their children.

No, but they have a massive team behind them. They aren't ordering printer ink on Amazon and writing and printing documents, booking train fares, filling up the car with petrol, buying a new outfit for an important meeting, rushing to pick the kids up and so on...everything will be done for them

ShamedBySiri · 21/04/2023 13:59

Well for a start they do like to pick up the children when they can. And I'm sure Cathrine has to spend a significant amount of time planning outfits. Documents have to be read if not written and meeting prepared for. William is now Duke of Cornwall and will have significant management responsibilities and I doubt when he visits tenant farmers etc that these types of ordinary working day commitments are listed, he will be have a lot of work related to the Duchy estate.

Novella4 · 21/04/2023 14:03

The royals have nothing to do with the running of the Duchys

A management board does all the work

Of course they do. How do you think Poundsbury came into being, with the particular designs that it has without personal involvement of the (then) Prince of Wales (Charles) ?

orangedalmatian · 21/04/2023 14:25

Its lovely to see them having a joke together. They are a nice couple and good fun .

Novella4 · 21/04/2023 14:27

@ShamedBySiri

Charles said he wanted a village built in the style he approved of .

So?

If we are going to talk about freehold denied , mine rents challenged , etc let's include him in all that too

Just like an ordinary member of the public then

We really need to get rid of the 150 (or thereabouts) people who work for them then
They do it all themselves! I must look out for them at the petrol pumps next time I'm round Windsor way!

Because he was DESPERATE for this ideological dream he had to become reality. No other reason

You obviously know them going by your post!

hopelessbuthopeful · 21/04/2023 17:55

Nothing stunning about Kate in these pictures. She is just an ordinary looking woman and all these people fawning over her wouldn't give her a second look if she wasn't a member of the RF. Nice to see them out and about "working ".

The Duchy of Lancaster is overseen by a council which is (de facto) appointed by and answerable to the Chancellor of The Duchy. The monarch isn't usually directly involved but obviously they are kept updated and could express an opinion.
However, the Duchy of Cornwall was directly overseen by Charles when he was Duke and he chaired their meetings himself. He had a lot of input but obviously it wasn't his full time job and he had other demands on his time.
I think William took over running the estate a few years ago. I don't know how involved he intends to be.

No she absolutely is not skeletal.
Stop posting such tosh.
I was the same weight/body type as her at that age.
We're so used to seeing overweight figures, we don't appear to recognise healthy, slim figures.

poppysockies · 22/04/2023 11:47

She looks beautiful to me. Her smile seems infectious and natural.
