So Harry (our gift horse😁), has described the literary classic, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck as ‘short, one hundred and fifty pages of nothing’…

Just musing on how we might we describe his ‘historically important’ publication?

If I want a literary guide, I'll stick with Stephen Fry and Harold Bloom, thanks. Not an ignorant upper class oaf who receives the best education money can buy and emerges with two A levels, a B and a D.

Not sure if you read this far but he is quite honest about not being academic. He seems to have made peace with this, his father accepted it and it doesn't seem like his grades have stopped him doing what he wanted to do.

He didn't have a choice about where he went to school - if he did I doubt it would have been Eaton. He knew he could not keep up and that was not the place for him. I'm sure Charles knew at this point he was not academic and was struggling so could have moved him.
