CBS criticised for showing dying photos of Diana

Yet this is where Harry chooses to do his interviews?

He better not repeat the claims he did on ITV about how disgusted he is that the press published her dying photo’s, on the news channel that did just that!

The same photos that showed her face that he was grateful were hidden from him!

You think he shouldn’t do interviews with CBS because of photos they published 20 years ago? It’s highly unlikely anyone involved even still works there.

If the BBC were to show something you found abhorrent, would you boycott it for two decades?

I just think it would be highly, highly ironic to tell how disgusting it is for the media to do that, on the same media channel.

And would I boycott the BBC had it broadcast pictures of my dying mum?
100%
Abso-fucking-lutely

The same way Liverpudlians boycott the sun after all these years. They won’t even type out the name

Given most of Harry’s beef with the media started with the way they allegedly treated his mother then no,
he shouldn’t do interviews with the people he (still) holds responsible. Why would he? (Not to make sure his book sells loads of copies, surely…?)

He’s not doing interviews with the people he holds responsible, though. It’s highly unlikely to be the same people. As stated in the comment to which you’ve responded.

CBS is a gigantic news corporation that employs circa 13,000 people. It has merged, split and merged again with Viacom (another gigantic news corporation) twice in the last 20 years. It had restructured multiple times, gained and lost thousands of employees (including CEOs) in that time. Should he also track down every past employee and make note of where they’re currently working so he can boycott those organisations, as well?

He shouldn’t do interviews with them because 20 years ago, an organisation called CBS that bears no resemblance to its current incarnation, and was run and staffed by completely different people, published photos of his mother? I see.

At least Harry has a book people want to buy. Irrespective of all of what Camilla dished very few are interested.

Harry gives the opportunity to hear from the horses mouth instead of hiding being "No Comment" but then leaking though "Palace sources" and "close friends".

We're instead to trust media headed by Rebecca Brooks (Sunday Times, Times, The Sun) or Piers Morgan, Jeremy Clarkson etc who all worked together and remain close for decades. These people known to pay off policemen, breach trust, falsify identity etc to obtain peoples records and communications.

I didn't watch it, but the transcript is a good read. Came across better in print than watching the itv interview I thought.

Why would you write and publish a book that you didn't want to sell.

JemimaTiggywinkles · 09/01/2023 07:22

Holding a grudge against CBS wouldn’t fit with Harry’s pretence that the British media are the worst in the world. It is particularly odd that he was talking about the pain he felt in knowing those pictures existed without any acknowledgment that the organisation he was talking to was (at the time) part of the problem. If an organisation had published pictures of my dying mum I’m don’t think I’d ever be able to forgive and forget. But maybe I’m less forgiving than Harry.

I completely agree with you. I think it would be ridiculous for him to not do an interview with CBS because they covered the death of his mother in a way which he doesn’t believe is legitimate (although I do believe they largely covered it legitimately).

But I think Harry picks and chooses who he holds grudges against depending on what is convenient to him.

I think Harry’s take on the media is completely wild if I’m honest. He seems to want to be able to tell them what to write about him without any independent thought or criticism. It’s ludicrous.

shows that the concept of irony is too complex for Harry to understand.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 09/01/2023 09:28

Why will he give a toss? It's the British press and their relationship with the RF that are to blame for everything remember?

purpledalmation · 09/01/2023 14:53

Netflix did The Crown about Diana's death. Didn't stop them doing their dumbed down documentary
