So, in our beloved newspaper it's claimed from military sources that H may or may not have dodged a drugs test.
Surely this is only going one way and it's not Harry's.

Spoiler alert it's NOT from palace sources 😂

That looks more like the military retaliating.

DomesticShortHair · 07/01/2023 03:18

Missing the point entirely, but it hasn’t been a RAF base since 1993. So if that simple fact is incorrect, it doesn’t give much confidence about the standard of journalism for the rest of the article, I’d suggest.

Depends if you are going by Wikipedia 😂

@DomesticShortHair what are you talking about? My god you defenders of H&M really need to start trying harder than spreading lies that are easily disproven.

All his previous commanders are now speaking out against him, they have given statements how he was the only person they have ever known being able to leave a locked down base when a drugs test was called due to some one very senior in the forces pulling strings very quickly.

I was brought up in the military, I definitely did a SIOB when I saw this story. It’s massive. I knew young men and women, with otherwise good careers, sent to military prison and kicked out of the army for testing positive for drugs - even just cannabis. Whole life changing actions taken against them. If he was allowed to bypass usual regulations around drugs then that is outrageous.

It's been an army airfield since 1993 so actually that makes more sense considering Harry was never in the RAF.

Which I'm not surprised about. Like many others, they've probably had enough from the ginger whinger

SIOB? I love an acronym and this is not in my lexicon!

And yes, this is a huge piece of info. Special treatment for the special prince. Not a good look!

That makes sense. Thanks! I am in a pre coffee state. Not all the cylinders have fired up yet.

cyclamenqueen · 07/01/2023 07:17

Wattisham is very much a working army base. We are on the training route for Apache’s . I can practically tell you by the week if it’s night flying or whatever. They use our village church as a reference point and we live next to the church 😂

I’m talking about how it stopped being a RAF base in 1993. That’s a fact, I’m sorry if it’s inconvenient for you, Facts not your thing, eh?

I did enjoy your rant though about spreading lies though. And by the way, I’ve also personally witnessed someone else leave a locked down base during CDT (Compulsory Drug Testing), so it happens. I personally have no idea whether in his case it happened or not, or the reasons behind it if it did,. But I’m less inclined to believer any story, from anyone, if they get a basic fact wrong whilst telling it. Even less so a professional journalist. It’s called credibility. Something you’re lacking in, after your little tantrum.

Rowthe · 07/01/2023 09:06

He has absolutely no concept of the privilege he has enjoyed over his life.

He really needs to stop whinging and whining over the perceived wrongs of his family. He really is behaving like a spoiled brat.

PicturesOfDogs · 07/01/2023 09:08

He’s opened a massive can of worms.

The world and their brother are now going to cash in to tell ‘their truth’ now.

Hes told so much openly he’ll be seen as fair game

Choccolatte · 07/01/2023 09:13

It is also a terrible reflection on the army that they were so weak they allowed this to happen.

AWaferThinMint · 07/01/2023 09:13

@DomesticShortHair that's true, it did. But facts clearly aren't your thing.

A quick look online will tell you it was taken over by the army and run as joint helicopter command. It's not like they closed it down.

Guess what Prince Harry flew - apache helicopters! So in the army he flew the exact machine that was being run out of the old RAF base now run by the army.

At least if you're going to disparage people do it with facts.

As others have said, Harry was never in the RAF, it became an Army airfield in 1993, and is part of Apache helicopter training.
So you're correct, getting basic facts wrong does reduce your credibility.

Glindara · 07/01/2023 09:15

That old trope now “fake news” - to silence the opinions of those they don’t agree with.

SirChenjins · 07/01/2023 09:16

Given that the H&M defenders have claimed that previous claims about them couldn’t possibly be true and it was just the horrible British public and media being mean to them - and the royal stallion has now confirmed them to be true I’d say there’s every probability this report is also correct.

The RAF has never owned or operated apache helicopters. RAF Wattisham ceased to be an RAF Station in 1993. A tri-service Headquarters, JHC is funded out of the land component, and didn’t form until 1999. The RAF is not the Army. All of this again is fact. You’ve embarrassed yourself twice with your little reaction, I’d absolutely love it if you went for a third. Especially if you can tell me more about what facts are, and how they are not my thing.

TheFairyCaravan · 07/01/2023 09:42

DH left the RAF, after 35yrs service, about 18mths ago. We lived in married quarters, behind the wife, for a lot of that. They absolutely never tested everyone on in one single day of CDT. They couldn’t, they wouldn’t have had the time. He was let off on one occasion because I had a very important hospital appointment that couldn’t be changed. Anyone want to tell The Scum and The Fail about that one?

DS1 is now serving. His regiment has never tested them all either. He often does the “willy watching” as they call it, so they know that the personnel aren’t using someone else’s pee.

If, and it’s a big if, Harry was allowed to skip a drugs test i would suggest he’s not the only one considering I’ve come across helicopter pilots in the armed services who have fatal car accidents while high on all sorts of things.

Endersduffduff · 07/01/2023 09:46

Didn’t he fly helicopters? If he did, surely that’s huge - allowing someone in charge of a machine like that to potentially have drugs in their system!

DRS1970 · 07/01/2023 09:47

It's been an army air corp base for decades, not RAF. It is also called Wattisham, not Wittisham. If they can't get that right, what else have they got wrong...

C8H10N4O2 · 07/01/2023 10:09

Its absolute tosh to claim the Royals can't complain or explain - they do it constantly.

They have a huge PR machine and use "friends of the royals" and "sources close to the palace" to do their speaking for them. Just this morning, Jonathan Dimbleby whose head has been up Charles's backside for forty odd years was given the plumb interview spot on Today to spend 20 minutes dishing the dirt (oh so nicely) on Harry and opining the saintly royal family (tax exempt, often law exempt royal family).

That is the interview slot normally reserved for the major issues of the day, wars, economic crises, domestic crises, budgets being used for one side of a family spat.
