You know what totalitarian regimes hate more than anything? MOCKERY.

They all stand on their dignity. Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Ceauceascu, Putin, Taliban - they cannot bear to be mocked. It is the greatest weapon oppressed people have.

Some of the things they do are beyond mockery - the Holocaust, the Holodomor, Gulags, Killing Fields ,Dying Rooms, burning women alive, genocide in all of its hideous forms - they are too, too, terrible and never can or should be made fun of - but the leaders and regimes themselves are contemptible and need to be undermined and mocked at every opportunity.

If these threads aren't to your taste, there are plenty of other for you to read.
