I don't understand why some people seem to want this to be about race. It's so divisive. This is about spoilt, petulant, entitled and spiteful behaviour from a Prince who is publicly selling his family's dirty laundry for money. Absolutely nothing to do with anyone's skin colour and I think it's racist to suggest that it is.

Taking the piss out of the royals and caricaturing them has been around for centuries.

Here’s an example of George Cruikshank taking the piss out of The King George IV in 1823.

The poor plebs have to find their entertainment somewhere and ridiculous royals are easy pickings.

I'm a bit shocked anyone is reading racism here. Well apart from the ginger stuff which I know some people feel very hurt by.

I'm a red head from a red head family but don't see the ginger ribbing as racist. I appreciate that it is in some places.

This ribbing is all about sibling rivalry and entitlement. Nothing to do with Meghan at all.

for all those now suddenly using the bullying / mental health card to try and shut down any criticism of your idols, If anything, it’s been your incessant fawning over them and crazy-making flat out denial of their hypocrisy (which was obvious at the start to many of us) that’s culminated in this. Because of the echo chamber created by their supposed fans, they’ve felt emboldened to really up the ante. So take it up with yourselves.

Ok so this thread has tanked now due to black rights activists and their insistence of seeing every god damned thing through the eyes of racist victim hood and paranoia.

started off as as a laugh about a privileged English prince who is monumentally fucking up in full public gaze.

ended up yet again as a heated debate about unconscious bias and persecution.

I’ll go elsewhere.

There is a video of banter between Willy and Harold where Harold teases his brother about going bald and Willy replies saying at least he’s not ginger. Both brothers laugh.

I've seen a couple of videos that actually show how sad this situation is. They were close as brothers, they had a very natural banter, and they had the same with their dad.

In one video Harry is winding William up about forgotten boots then it's cuts to Charles looking at them and William says something about Charles using it later and thinking he's funny (I've really not explained it well) but to me it was like something I'd say to my siblings about dad and his dad jokes, that are only funny because they aren't. It's the way my own kids talk about me when I think I'm being hilarious (obviously I am) that affectionate eye roll.

I do wonder whether William did take on a bit of a parental role following Diana's death, maybe even before that point, then when he got married and had his own children Harry felt rejected. He was then seeking his brother's approval, when he didn't get it everything exploded. As they say there's a fine line between love and hate.
