I hope they know what they’re doing. Running a business isn’t that easy and if anything goes wrong it’s the directors who are prosecuted, not the employees.

Was just coming to post this. The president of Archewell stepping down by mutual agreement...all planned and best of friends.

I didn't know they have also lost/shed their global press secretary and chief of staff.

Planned and friendly or not, it will be interesting to watch press announcements etc in weeks to come. Of course there have long been suspicions about the true author of many announcements over the past few years. Now we will know. Though I expect the hot line to Scobie will be extra hot.

It’s the boring but essential bits of running a company that they need to be wary of. Ie filing the right reports at the right time. I hope they have a good CFO.

I don't know much about the Archewell Foundation at all. But imagine being a specialist in running international charities(?) and ending up in this situation.

CoffeeBoy · 05/12/2022 12:58

They’re a pair of idiots who can’t seem to keep any staff

milti · 05/12/2022 13:49

They couldn’t run a hoover

saffronrabbit · 05/12/2022 15:44

The D list actress and the dumb prince....Hmm

Mumsnut · 05/12/2022 16:07

I suspect they've always required total control, which is why they lose those who are nominally in charge.

Ohnonevermind · 05/12/2022 16:26

I often get serious Dunning Kruger vibes from them, I’m sure after playing a paralegal in Suits Meghan knows exactly what to do

and if rumours are true that they’re haemorrhaging money - so perhaps looking for savings ? I can’t imagine there is much happening in the charity side.

smilesy · 05/12/2022 20:49

Apparently they have lost the head of Archewell Audio today too

Maybe they have seen a preview of the Netflix documentary and can see which way the wind is blowing

Serenster · 05/12/2022 21:10

Experienced, talented staff cost a lot of money. They have now completed all their announced projects (podcast, book, tv series) and have announced nothing new. Maybe they just can’t afford to pay them any more.

Especially if they are sitting around with nothing to do!

Ohnonevermind · 05/12/2022 21:18

it does rather seem like money worries. they haven’t managed to pull in a rich benefactor and they have been spending money hand over first.

CathyorClaire · 05/12/2022 21:25

It's registered in the conveniently financially opaque Delaware.

Losing even more eyes on the moves is smart.

BoJoSecretGF · 05/12/2022 21:38

But if they’re losing money then they need someone experienced at the helm otherwise it turns into a right shit show.

This is not hard to do.
Looks like money issues to me.

BoJoSecretGF · 05/12/2022 21:51

It isn’t hard if you know what you’re doing.

Are you saying running a company is easy if you’ve never in your life done anything like it? Not heard of, say, any bitcoin companies allegedly worth billions collapsing lately due to being badly run by someone with no experience?

Serenster · 05/12/2022 22:03

Yes, I was laughing at that too, smilesy. Shall we go and tell all the listed and regulated companies out there that all the money they pay their experienced finance and company secretarial teams, and their external tax, accounting and legal advisers, is unnecessary expenditure, as it’s not hard to do. Utter nonsense.🤣

Newwardrobe · 05/12/2022 22:14

I wonder how much longer it will last? I agree that they probably don't have the money to pay staff any more.

I am saying filing the proper paperwork is not hard to do. I quoted the comment I was replying to. They will legally need an accountant.
In terms of running the charity, I am not sure what it is doing?

antelopevalley · 05/12/2022 22:37

@SerensterIt is my day job to do some of this for a company. It is not as hard as people make out. Charities do not pay taxes. They have to have an accountant to do their annual accounts. The annual return is easy, if the charity is set up right they won't need legal advice unless they wind up or have HR issues. This is not a large enough company to be difficult stuff. Company secretary at this level is an easy job.
Running a charity will be easy if the charity is not doing much?

Ohnonevermind · 05/12/2022 22:37

@antelopevalley

are you talking from personal experience of working in a senior management position in a charitable organisation?
