Love logistical / boring / behind the scenes stuff. So the other nations PMs, Presidents, Royalty....
Are they all tucked up in guest rooms at BP? Or are they likely to have properties made available to them?

I'd love the idea of a few of them bumbling around in house coats with nightcaps in one of the drawing rooms at BP.

Maybe with their specific country’s ambassador?

MrsMigginsCat · 18/09/2022 20:02

I think some are staying in Buckingham Palace and I guess others are staying in their respective embassies and consulates. I'm interested in the logistics and details too OP.

this article reckons Buckingham palace.

Augend23 · 18/09/2022 20:03

I assumed they would all stay at their embassies on the basis they have their security etc set up there but I don't have any evidence to support that assertion.

I'm also very interested in the logistics.

I saw something about the Japanese emperor checking into Claridges

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 18/09/2022 20:08

I never really thought about the embassies, just had them in mind more as office space. Makes sense to have accomodation in them too.

I have several in my spare room. The Bidens seem happy enough in the caravan on the drive. I’m up at 5 in the morning to make them bacon buttys and send them on their way.

TBF I think you're right and I have accidentally amalgamated the embassies and the ambassadors' residences in my head.

I was thinking this and although I’m sure there’s plenty of luxurious and secure accommodation around, it’s fun to imagine them all in some grotty 2* hotel near Earl’s Court because everywhere else was booked. Biden and Macron almost coming to blows over the last mini box of Fruit and Fibre on the breakfast buffet.

Serenster · 18/09/2022 20:24

The US Ambassador has a magnificent mansion just off Regents Park, with top notch security, so that is where the Presidents will stay if they are in London. If they stay in a hotel the secret service insist on booking out the entire floor above and the entire floor below the room they are staying in, so obviously it’s much easier for them to have a base somewhere they often visit!

AppleKatie · 18/09/2022 20:24

Premier inn.

Snowdropsarelovely · 18/09/2022 20:31

I wondered this !!

I was also wondering.
Think embassy for security..where is biden?

bestbefore · 18/09/2022 22:51

Thought I saw Biden going to the savoy on the tv?

I was wondering when they would all eat? After the service at Westminster do you think there's a do somewhere for all the guests? Most won't be going on to windsor will they but they'll want a cuppa? 🤔

LollipopLady123 · 18/09/2022 23:06

It’s all covered here in the original London Bridge plans:

‘European royal families will be put up at the palace; the rest will stay at Claridge’s hotel.’

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/09/2022 23:07

Travelodge or Holiday Inn.

Winfield House it used to belong to the Woolworth's heiress Barbara Hutton she donated it to the US after the war, apparently had top notch secure rooms when she owned it. It is quite something apparently.

Unexpecteddrivinginstructor · 18/09/2022 23:21

I reckon they are having Ferrero Rocher in their country's embassy with the ambassador.

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/09/2022 23:23

Mostly hotels I’d imagine, a few VVIPS at BP and CH.

Premier inn.

😂

Let's hope nobody loses their cuddly toy! Mind you, I suppose Claridge's has excellent customer service.

Thanks to whoever posted the articles.

I love this list.

Countries not invited
Russia, Myanmar, Belarus, Syria, Venezuela and Afghanistan

BeyondApproach · 18/09/2022 23:37

I also now have a burning desire to book a suite in Claridge's when I win the lottery.
