Are 3, 6 and 8 year olds really playing these games?

In an article in the People today William is talking about his family Christmas. A typical general meaningless article. But he claims that his children's favourite board games are monopoly and risk. Charlotte and Louis seem far too young to enjoy playing these.

William received one question about board games, and he shared that Monopoly and Risk are favorites in his household with Kate Middleton and their three children: Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3. However, it’s something that “usually everyone gets very cross about because they lose.”

Sorry I should have said my ds is the same age as George I think. He’s 8, almost 9

Mine love monopoly! They’re 10,7 and 4…

My ds when he was 8 loved Monopoly and Risk. It’s where he got his megalomaniac tendencies 🤨.

His younger siblings would just happily play with the horses in Risk.

6 and 8 are fine for normal Monopoly. 3 is too young. DC1 loved Risk at 8, rather more than I did. We played a lot of board games when they were younger (had no TV or other technology!)

I used to play monopoly (the grown up version) quite young. Probably 4-5ish. My mum made it kid friendly for me so I just kept going around the board and didn’t have to pay rent if I landed on my siblings’ property. But I started playing it properly by 6.

Not sure about Risk though.

My seven and four year olds play both games. Pretty sure my youngest was playing at three (with help!) as we played a lot of games last winter. I've got my eldest another game like Risk, but based on the D day for Christmas Grin

I think 8-9 year olds is peak board gamé playing age. But with 3 year olds there I would have been playing things like operation.
