I cried FOUR times throughout the Wedding....FOUR.

I don't even know why, I just kept getting overwhelmed! x

You are not alone!

I cried at the view going down the Mall with the Lifeguards on the horses and the carriages.

ivykaty44 · 29/04/2011 14:04

I didn't cry, but thought it was such a lovely moment when the royal couple emmeged onto the balcony and Kate mouthed "oh WOW" when she saw the crowd [cgrin] such a moment for her aswell as the crowd and the people watching.

CointreauVersial · 29/04/2011 14:05

I shed a little tear when they struck up "I Was Glad" as she walked down the aisle. My whole school sang it at St Paul's when I was 12, trumpets, orchestra and all, and I remember every word. I just love it.

dobby2001 · 29/04/2011 14:07

No I admit to welling up a few times, I kept thinking how proud Wills mother would have been of him and how sad that she was not around to meet Catherine and be part of their daySad

hippieshake · 29/04/2011 14:31

I think I just really like how much they obviously love each other. The little things like the soppy smile Wills got when he first saw Kate, and when they were holding hands in the carriage.

He must miss his Mum so much today x

i loved the 'oh wow' moment too [csmile]

cece · 29/04/2011 16:32

I cried too. DD thought it was hilarious. Smile

Guitargirl · 29/04/2011 16:33

I also shed a tear and didn't think in a million years that I would!

But I thought the way she was obviously holding very tightly on to her Dad's hand on the walk down the aisle - quite white-knuckled - was very sweet.

CestTout · 29/04/2011 16:35

Cried too!! Went down to London and have just got back. now forwarding through the recording and slobbing again. lovely.

COCKadoodledooo · 29/04/2011 16:44

I blubbed, mostly because it reminded me of our wedding day 13 years ago. Especially when he turned and told her she looked beautiful. Dh did that to me (am sure he was giving Wills tips beforehand Wink).

Gah, soppy bugger! Brought a tear to my eye again just typing that.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/04/2011 17:00

you arent alone. I started telling dd how I remembered when William and Harry were born and then how they lost their Mum and we've all watched them grow up and now look at them both.
Half way through I got so choked I couldnt speak. No idea why I got so sentimental - really thought I wasnt that bothered by the whole thing!

hocuspontas · 29/04/2011 17:27

They are 'our' Royal family. We have watched William grow up so it's natural to feel emotional.

suzikettles · 29/04/2011 17:30

No - not the only one. I'm such a sucker for a wedding. All that hope for the future makes me well up.

farkthatforagameofsoldiers · 29/04/2011 17:33

I kept getting choked up too when explaining who everyone was to dc. He thought that Carol Middleton was Kate and come to marry the Prince Grin so I explained that no she was Kate's Mum and he said "so where is the Prince's Mum then?" and I had to pause a few seconds before I could answer.

Giselle99 · 29/04/2011 18:26

I did too. As has been said I think it's because we've watched them grow up and also because they clearly really love each other. Also the fact that she's an ordinary middle class lass (albeit from an affluent family) marrying the future king gives it a fairytale feel...

hormonesnomore · 29/04/2011 18:30

I'm welling up reading this thread...

I'm in no way a royalist, but watched the wedding from beginning to end and got quite emotional - I suppose it's because I love a wedding and the royal couple were just sooooo lovely

suebfg · 29/04/2011 20:31

I shed tears several times. I'm glad William has found happiness with his beautiful bride.

Loobyloo1902 · 30/04/2011 17:21

I'm not alone then! I had to take my daughter for a "nappy change" to avoid my republican family seeing me well up and sniffle. Later on it turned out that my Dad had been sniffling too.

I heard that Harry said to Wills, "wait til you see the dress", that made me blub again.

mamijacacalys · 30/04/2011 21:15

It was the music and the singing. I'm welsh so any rendition of Cwm Rhondda sung by a choir in a cathedral type setting will get me going!
