“Orange cats are crazy”

Does anyone else find the “orange” cat being crazy thing a myth? The only ginger cat I had was scared of his own shadow, was extremely shy and timid and would hide all day. Anyone else think the orange cat thing is a myth, I’ve been told ive “obviously never owned one then” because orange cats are weird and crazy apparently 😂 i dont think a cats personality is based on what colour they are?

I had never heard this about ginger cats, until a week ago, when I brought two ginger boys home from the local cat rescue.

Since then so many people have laughed and told me gingers are famed for their personalities.

So far, they aren't any different from other cats I've had, although I've never had two at the same time before, and their playing is crazy!

I’ve had two orange cats (both boys) and both had very limited common sense and got themselves into all kinds of scrapes 😂

So many lovely photos! I have three ginger boys, ex-ferals, I love them to bits. One of my favourite things to do is to sit in the garden watching them playing and racing around. I can't cuddle them but I can stroke them. If I want cuddles I have a very fluffy BSH who indulges me.

Still not convinced it’s down to being “Orange” which yes I think is an American term was always just ginger cats till recently i started seeing orange cat everywhere. One thing cant be denied though that they are beautiful 😻 (though arent they all 😊)

”Orange” cats is just such a childish sounding term to me - it would be like calling always calling tabby cats “brown and white stripy cats” or blonde hair “yellow”. It’s like “don’t you know the proper name for it?” I know this is a little unreasonable as clearly in some places it must be the “proper name”, but it still grates on me!

Not in my experience, ive a ginger tom and he is the laziest lump ever, greys in my experience are either wild or just warped. I have one with an identity crisis who likes to sit with the cows most of the day, even comes back soaked from being licked 😣

I had a ginger and white cat, he was naughty, pretty vicious, not a people person, and was known as a legend! I had him for 17 years and loved him like he was a child, he died 18 months ago and I miss him every day 😭

Now I have a tabby, she is like a little beautiful fairy, an absolute cuddly dream, I didn’t know cats could be like that! 😄
