Do you keep your cats in at night?

What do you do with yours?

Can they just go in and out whenever they want?

Or do you keep them in at night?

How do you get them to come in at night?!

We just shout him, but I appreciate we are lucky that he doesn’t really roam and is in our garden or our immediate neighbours. Our previous girl was the same.

We are however currently missing my MIL’s cat who we let out for the first time on Friday after being with us and kept indoors for almost six weeks, and he legged it and has never come back.

I feel so lucky so far with my first outdoor/indoor cat. She just hangs around our garden and if she leaves I think she's always very close in the very near houses. She actually tends to come in by herself even. So she's got the idea now when it's nighttime or evening time!!

I'm so glad she stays close though, I don't know what I'd do with more of a wanderer! 😆

I know 😭. We’ve put out flyers and posters and social media. He’s always had unrestricted cat flap access so is streetwise, and is obviously neutered/chipped, but he doesn’t know our area. He was miserable being kept in and we held out far longer than is recommended. Hopefully he will pop up soon.

Mine is in every night. Only one night he was out, had a fight and ended up, very sick and us with a large vet bill. Also they are more likely to get run over in the dark and he is black. Never again

Ours come in at night it was part of the CPL adoption policy .
They like their routine so coming inside = Supper
The female sometimes sits outside on a patio chair ( till 3am on a tardy night) we put the cat door one way ( incoming only) and tell her that her brother will eat all the pies.
We hav3 to put something in front of the door otherwise they keep activating the "click" and wearing the battery out , apart from anything the noise it makes .
