Positive stories of cats coming home please

My 12 year old boy went missing Friday night - he is the clingiest most loving cat ever so it’s very unlike him. I think he got spooked by something and hasn’t come home.

there was a sighting of him on someone’s cctv early hours of Saturday morning but nothing since.

I am going out of my mind - I’ve done leaflets, posters, social media posts, I’ve been out looking for him at all hours, I’ve got his blanket out, his toy, everything.

has anyone got any positive stories of their cat going missing for days and still coming home? It’s been 4 days now and I have to admit my mental health is massively struggling and I have a 7 year old who misses his best friend very much

Hi all, just wanted to share an update - my boy came home after twelve days! He’s lost weight and he’s exhausted but he’s home 💕

Ah amazing! I’ve checked back on this thread a couple of times hoping for some good news, am so pleased for you. It was such a horrible experience to go through - I don’t know if your cat wears a collar but we ended up getting a gps tracker after ours went missing. There are pros and cons to them but thought would mention in case it’s something you might be interested in

Moved house and one of my three cats went AWOL over an 8ft. wall and disappeared.

Two weeks later I managed to get her back after a phone call from someone who saw her in their garden eating the food they put out for the birds.

I went out at 6am with the cat carrier and actually saw her running down the main road near where she was seen with a mouse in her mouth. It took about half an hour to actually get hold of her and I was nearly crying with frustration and worry in case she shot off again.

I lived very near a huge military airfield and I think if she'd got in there, I'd never have got her back, the little tinker.

Only just seen this thread and I’m so glad you have good news OP. We had a big black and white boy who, about 4 weeks after we moved about a mile away from our previous house, and having been coming back to the new house, disappeared. He was missing for 3 weeks. What we think happened was he got lost and managed to find his way back across the fields to our old house, but then when we were not there, he overshot and managed to find his way to the nearby cattery. They took him and had him scanned then called me to say they had him. They told us they had never had a cat check itself in before 😂. We went away that summer and used that cattery as he seemed to like ii 😆
