Recommendations for a sturdy cat tree for a Maine Coon kitten

Anyone have a Maine coon? I’m getting a little boy one in a couple of weeks and I need to get all the ‘stuff’ for him. Specifically I need to get him a cat tree but as he is going to be a big lad I could do with some recommendations if anyone has any? He’s going to be too big for most of them I’d guess. X

i got a standard cat tree for them which took all three of them as kittens and now has space for two absolute max.

Have a look at Feandrea trees on Amazon - they’ve got a few in their range that have wider than normal scratching poles. I’ve got 2 Maine Coon’s, boy currently weighs 6.5kg and the girl is 5.5kg - the tree easily copes with them snoozing in a basket each at the same time (no photo of that though). Definitely been sturdy enough to support the lunatic lad on his exploration missions!

If this is your first MC, be prepared for how chatty they are - it took me by surprise at first! My boy chatters away to himself wherever he is in the house 😹

Oooooo I'm so jealous! I would love one, but unfortunately ds21 is allergic to them, as he found out when his girlfriends parents bought a kitten 😩 please post pics!

If you have the budget for it then these are amazing. I have a Norwegian forest cat and another two smaller breeds the trees are huge and so sturdy. Had an Amazon one previously, and it was fab, but the kittens destroyed it within a couple of years. Have two from this place and have had them for years and they still look brand new!

Two very large maine coon boys - biggest one is 10kg (probably 0.5kg overweight) and smaller 8kg.

Maine coons are the best cats - I just love them. Gorgeous in every way. I spent the whole afternoon with the big one purring on my lap - bliss.

We have two MCs. They love this Fat Boy scratcher which is massive compared to the pathetic little things you’ll see in shops and actually gives them a nice stretch.

I have a Natural Paradise tree - it’s really sturdy, and all the material parts detach for washing and can be replaced. Mine is six foot but they do smaller ones as well.

They also lounge on this which is a good length for them. Mine are 9.5kg and 7kg - they used to chase each other through the loops as kittens but those days are long gone 🤣

We got rid of the tall cat tree after about six months as they just never went near it.
