ManyPets policy renewal price for 2 cats up 70% from last year, with no claims!

Omg 😱 Just had our renewal quote through from ManyPets for our two young cats (3 and 6 months). It has increased from £501 to £868 for the year!

Is anyone else in this situation - premiums going up by this insane amount? What are you doing about it? Wondering if we should just start a savings pot for the cats instead, to cover any eventualities. 😳

Why not do a price comparison and switch to a cheaper one

Lizzbear · 26/06/2026 07:55

Our ManyPets subscription went up loads this year. Our cat is 11. Might be due to age of the pet?

Mine almost doubles last year. But they said it was because I had two claims in a month. So hopefully it’ll even out this year.

How have you got a renewal for a 6 month old cat?

This is a good point. 🤔 I am now reflecting on the fact that we only got tiny cat in February and added her to the pet insurance. So the renewal quote is for big cat and tiny cat for a whole year, whereas previously it was for big cat and only a few months of tiny cat, hence the massive rise.
Thank you for spotting that! It still feels like crazy money mind.

Are they pedigree cats?

dementedpixie · 26/06/2026 13:34

Mine was £837 for 2 cats but both are now over 8 years old which bumps up the payment.

Many pets offers lifetime cover I think whereas if you switch around to save you rule out pre-existing conditions. I’m stuck paying for pet plan for similar reasons and this year’s renewal for two cats is £1400 despite them only being three so I dread to think what the future holds cost wise

We're with PetPlan for our pets. One of our dogs costs £65 per month and she's 20 months old, so we've paid £1165 so far (first 3 months were breeder insured). PetPlan have paid out just under £9000 in abdominal surgeries so far. So even if we don't claim for the next 8 years, I reckon we'll be on top financially.

Mine is up for renewal later in the - year 2 3 year old cats. I have never claimed a penny. If it goes up by more than a pound or two I will cancel and stick the 50+ quid a month into a savings account to self insurance.

Hallywally · 26/06/2026 23:47

That’s a lot! I pay about £280 a year for two pedigrees who have a higher premium due to their financial “value” (I dont view them this way but it’s how the policy works).

OnTheBoardwalk · 27/06/2026 00:08

What gets me is the premiums double because things are more expensive but the amount insured for never changes so you are paying a lot more for a lot less cover

thats the con

Yes this is exactly the issue - lifetime cover 🙇🏼‍♀️ As my mum would say, it’s a licence to print money 💸

I feel a superstitious dread that if I didn’t renew I’d be asking for something awful to happen to one of them

Anewuser · 27/06/2026 09:28

My Many Pets insurance went up from £65 a month to £80 despite having never claimed during the four years we’ve had our dog.

I can’t justify a reason for it and only stayed with them after the first year because I liked the thought of a lifetime cover.

Reality is, they won’t cover the hernia he was born with, they don’t cover dental work, I still have to pay an excess if I claim, as well as having to pay yearly vaccinations and the policy is only going to keep going up every year as he ages, until probably at ten they’ll refuse to cover him.

I’ve already set up a standing order into a unique account for his care. I accept this may be foolish but I’m hoping this will stop me feeling mugged off every year.

If I start to wobble then I’ll shop around for a different policy, exactly how I do with the house and car insurance every year.
