Cat spraying

My cat is 9. We got him at 7 months and had him neutered straight away. A few years ago I got a new litter tray with a lid and he went straight upstairs and crapped on my son's rug. I went back to the old tray and thought all was fine. But then my son's room often smells odd ( he's a teen!) cleaned it all and found cat wee/spray in his room
Cleaned it all up and he now has to keep his door shut. Had the cat checkwd at the vets. They just said probably a stress response and he seems a stressy cat ( he hates the car and miaows and weed himself as soon as we left and then was panting at the vets with stress.)
Anyway they never tested his wee or anything. This year he seems better, he's always purring and wants feeding ( he's been wormed etc)
I discovered this week he had sprayed a ton in the spare room in the same spot. I've cleaned it all up etc. Then just now I was asleep and I heard him miaow then a nose like a wee... He's weed/sprayed on our storage bag in our bedroom. It didn't smell strong but when I shined uv light is deffo spray. AHH what can I do. He's on the powder (I forget the name) that is meant to help with stress. I bought feliway but he was still spraying. Any tips please? He's so friendly but does chase any other cats he sees. And hes so vocal and friendly to people. I've used the strong cat cleaning stuff but do I have to drown my whole house in it...
