Clear sick and soft poo

Dear cat normally brings up hair balls very occasionally but this evening she’s brought up clear sick (it just looks like watery mucus, no food mixed in) and had a very soft poo. Her poos are usually quite firm.

She seems same as usual and no change in her diet/eating habits - Hill’s Science dry food.

Does this sound like something for the vet first thing tomorrow or shall I watch and see?

Obviously lots of causes for this.
My cat had this last year turned out to be pancreatitis.
He had it again this year and unfortunately died last week. Blood tests, scans etc no cause found for the vomiting.
Get them seen, wishing you all the best x

So sorry that you lost your cat.

Will see how things go tomorrow.

I’d just keep an eye on her tonight and tomorrow and see how she is before rushing to the vet - if she goes outside she’s maybe eaten something daft in the garden? I’d be more concerned if she was acting oddly (hiding, withdrawn etc) along with the gastric issues personally.

Thinking about it, she has brought up clear mucus in the past, usually small amounts with bits of grass in it after she’s been outside.

She has been in the garden in the good weather so probably has been munching grass. There is more frothy mucus than normal.

In photo, the mucus is near her litter tray and the brown pellet is one of the litter pellets.

Cats can get offside and be unwell as we are. Like others have said if it carries on more than a few days then see a vet. As the weather is getting warmer cats tend to shed and therefore groom more. They may be struggling with a furball and eating grass etc to help bring it up

She’s not had a vomit or soft poo this morning. She did wake me up with her meowing which she does from time to time but seems ok.

Will keep an eye.

That sick looks a lot like the gastric juices Elton used to bring up. It may be worth a vet visit as in Elton's case it was down to nausea due to kidney disease. Is she drinking more?

Things seem to have settled, no more sick other than that one time and poos back to normal.

She seems herself, not drinking more or less water.

She is on a dry food only diet so I’m aware that her kidneys are more likely to be affected.

I’ll continue to watch; her vet check up is soon.

Glad to hear it! Fingers crossed for her (and you!)
