Cat-safe ways to deal with ants coming through floorboards

We’ve had the patio doors open for the past few days with this nice weather. I’ve just noticed that now I’ve shut the doors that there are lots of ants coming up through a gap in the floor boards. Is there anything I can use to get rid of them which is cat safe? 🐈‍⬛ 🐜

Half a banana placed on the floor outside the patio door. Give it 20 minutes to be discovered and they will troop out to eat it.
No powder, no poison and no mess.
almost zero effort.

A dollop of jam works too.

White vinegar squirted on the ground outside. The ants don’t like it. It’s generally non toxic to cats and I’ve been using it for years with no problems.

Bait stations?

Cinnamon works well, I sprinkle it where I don’t want the ants coming in.

We get ants in our house every summer, they are a menace. I use the nippon ant bait stations which work really well, you just have to make sure you put them in the ants “path” and initially you will see more ants - don’t be alarmed as this means it’s doing its job - the ants will take the poison back to the nest and they die very quickly after that.

Ant Stop Bait Stations. Safe around pets and children.

Cinnamon is surprisingly effective! I was sure it was an old wives tale, but it worked and caused no harm to my cats.
