Fussy cat-alternate foods or lump it?

I don't know what to do with my cat.

She's 15 and a very picky eater, more of a grazer.

Her food as varied from tinned high meat content food to raw, supermarket pouches or fresh food.

Sometime last year I transitioned her onto Nutriment from Smilla tins. It was very well received and she would eat way more than she needed to without putting on weight.

Then she started getting fussy, not wanting to eat and would walk off despite meowing for food. So then I changed brands but kept her on raw but that didn't go so well. She was still eating more than she needed but we really had to not give in if she refused to eat it at first.

A few weeks ago I thought I would try Marro. Initially she loved it, ate the whole pouch immediately so I kept it going over a few days and she would eat loads. She is supposed to eat 90g a day but she's been eating 130g plus dry.

Typically just as I set up the subscription and received a monthly batch she's decided not to eat it. We've just had a roast and she's come sniffing around for chicken but she didn't finish all her breakfast. She's had a tiny bit of chicken but I'm not giving her any more because I want to make sure she eats her dinner.

I've still got raw left so I might have to alternate raw Vs Marro so that she doesn't get bored but I don't have the freezer space to do this on a regular basis. She has her own mini freezer which fits a month's worth of raw and nothing else or the Marro and about 10 days of raw. I can only buy raw in bulk though and buying Marro not on subscription is a lot more expensive...

Does anybody else need to do this?!

when we had our cat she was a fussy devil. one day she would crave Felix the next Whiskas ! we fed her freshly cooked chicken, tins of sardines or mackerel or pilchards in oil, the oil did her coat good. we then put a little bit of wet down then left it for an hour or so if she did not eat it it would be thrown away. despite her age and lack of teeth she also had some dried just in case she got very hungry

I have a fussy eater too and a cupboard that looks like a pet shop.

But I’ve found that warming the food (pouch in a jug of warm water) or on a radiator, makes an older cat more receptive. The heat makes it more aromatic, so it’s tastier for them. I just rotate the brands and give several small meals a day, it seems to help.

Get her vet checked to, 15 is a classic age for kidney issues, in particular the crying for food and then refusing it. My boy’s just been diagnosed at 13 and trying to transition him onto renal food is proving challenging, although the food itself includes an appetite stimulant!

He is also very keen to be handfed, little and often, no idea why, but he does!

She's quite happy to eat roast chicken or treats so I don't think it's anything physical, she just seems to go off a brand ridiculously quickly.
