Settling room for new kitten

We are about to adopt a rescue kitten but it’s been 20 years since we last had them - and we have a bigger house! We have a garden room which is glass roof and bifolds where we will eventually have the cat flap. It can be closed off from the kitchen with glass doors. Wondering whether to make this his settling in room or whether it should be our small (carpeted) spare bedroom upstairs? Any advice?!

I usually used the bathroom or cloakroom, somewhere fairly small you can put food and a litter tray and where if there are any accidents overnight it's easy to clean up.

Sweet cat. We recently re-homed an 8 month old and are trying to start to let him out, he disappeared today although we were trying to follow him closely. No idea where he went but eventually turned up again, took years off my life! Good luck!

Ours was upstairs in the office, it’s still his room now and he sleeps in there at night. He’s super friendly to people but was a rescue not a kitten, so we gave him a room that guests when over and kids don’t tend to go in as it’s upstairs so he could take himself off if he fancied it. He’s outside now in the day and doesn’t really use it but there’s still a litter box in there and that room felt like the best place to keep it out of every day life for the whole family. It’s carpeted, previous owners chose light colours… it’s taken a battering but I’ve got a rubber mat for the litterbox and I’ve got a rug doctor now 😂

Thanks @catipuss - bedroom is smaller and cosier but carpeted. Garden room easier to clean but less cosy due to all the glass. Although it does have underfloor heating… I’m so excited I’m probably way overthinking it!

Edited

It will be lovely, our addition seems to get into all sorts of trouble, he's discovered he can climb trees as well as hiding in all the places we don't want him to go in the garden and he's now howling to go out again, not today.

OMG how adorable!! id say the carpeted room but let the cat decide where its more comfortable and take it from there. all the best

What a pretty kitten! No advice, just a request to keep us updated especially with pictures!
Do you have a name yet?😻

Here he is! Happy in the conservatory (we’re taking it in turns to sleep in there with him as he’s so tiny and friendly).

Equally happy curled up on the sofa with us! I don’t think he’s actually slept anywhere other than on someone yet 😆
