Why is my cat licking his blanket?

Ive googled and I can honestly say he's not stressed, gets plenty of attention and play. Diet wise I'd say he does well has a mix of Encore high chicken content pouches and Royal Canin biscuits. Has tuna sometimes. He doesnt have treats.

The other thing I read was could be mites, fleas. He did have a flea outbreak a couple of months ago. But I treated.

Seems happy and healthy and eating well.

Any ideas?

How old is he and is he making biscuits at the same time?

My cat sucks on a blanket when he paddles, as if he’s nursing, we were told it was due to being taken from his mum early. Other than this he’s very happy and healthy so it’s never been a concern, just a funny thing he does! He’s done it since we got him and he’s nearly 3

How old? Is it new behaviour? Our cat kneads and suckles on blankets and dressing gowns etc when sat on your knee but that's because she was found abandoned at 4 weeks. Apparently it's a thing if they lose Mum too early. She also loves to chew plastic the little monkey.

Mine started doing this and it was the start of CKD. He also started eating spider webs and dust.

Once we got him on his new renal diet he stopped and is back to normal.

How old is he?

Is there something on the blanket? I gave our cat catnip earlier tonight which he rolled around in for ages then was racing around madly. He has since been licking my trousers because there’s catnip on them from me down on my hands and knees cleaning up the drug den, and licking his basket where it’s come off his fur as he’s lying there. (He’s a pure junkie.)

He's 12. Got him from the rspca when we first got him at a few weeks old. He waa in a pen with his siblings no mother so could be.

Its new behaviour, was doing it on my son's duvet but hes always eating upstairs so thought it was food....could be food on this blanket.

He's just getting on OP. You can take him for a check up if you want.

Mines the same age and has started hounding for treats. I'm pretty sure she's got a bit of toodle slipping going on, .yowling into the void in the night sort of stuff. I've had to change her food and it seems to have settled. Thyroid issues are common at this age though.

They're like us when the elderly years start. Things start to go off a bit.

When Haribo was a kitten he would suck and knead at a fluffy panda top I have but only when I was wearing it. He then stopped but recently he has been making biscuits on different panda fluffy (my partner buys me a new one every few years). The concentration he has whilst doing it is so cute. He was 8/9 weeks old when he left his mother.
