What’s your cat’s routine, with going outside/being let in for the night, etc?

Hi. We’ve had our lovely rescue cat for two months. For various reasons, there was a delay in her being able to go outdoors. So today was Day 1 of being allowed outside.
Obviously it’s a big novelty for her, so I’ve been like an anxious mother whose kid is off to school for the first time 😁 She has been in and out like a yo-yo, with me providing lots of praise and reassurance.
It occurred to me that I should really have a routine in place for this kind of thing. I don’t want her to go outside late at night. But I’m not sure from what time I should keep her indoors. What do you do?
We’re in a safe, quiet-ish neighbourhood with a big garden (which she has now ventured outside of). In Scotland, so it’s dark and cold pretty early. My concern is that she’ll be nipping my head to go outside every 5 minutes, now that she has a taste of it 😄
Thanks.

The night time is when the cat really likes going out. Probably around 3 in the morning. Just get a cat flap.

Mine doesn’t have a routine. He has a cat flap. We think of him as a flat mate.
