Is this what normal cat vomit looks like (sorry)?

Had my rescue cat for 5 weeks now. Diarrhoea and unreliable litter box usage had been a problem, but I was getting this under control with a change of food (obviously introduced gradually, and it’s a better one than the shelter had her on) and litter. A poo sample came back as ‘normal’ from the vet’s.
However the latest is that she has vomited twice over the last couple of days. It’s only a little bit and seems to consist mainly of yellow bile/mucus and hair.
Would you say this warrants a trip to the vet? Or would it seem normal under the circumstances I’ve described.
She’s lovely and has otherwise settled well. But I’m new to this!
Thanks.

That looks like a normal variety of cat vomit. It's either that (watery with clump of fur or other unidentifiable 'stuff'), OR the food they've just eaten.

Cats regularly vomit, mine does around twice a month on average-ish. Sometimes more often.

If your cat's appetite is good, and they are playful/alert and grooming themself, peeing/pooing, then all's likely to be well.

If you can afford it, I'd recommend Katkin food. Don't feed too much dry kibble as cats tend not to drink water as much as they should, so wet food is kinder on their stomach.

ChatGPT is a good source of advice about cats as there is so much material on the internet for the bot refer to.

P.S. Probably you know this already, but when introducing a cat to a new home, you should confine it for the first few weeks to one room (and put litterbox, food water bed all in that room). Because a whole house can be overwhelming at first, and cats are very sensitive. And territorial, so they need to establish and understand the new territory.

I see hair in that - very common and completely normal. Better that than it all collecting up into a chunky hairball that they have to cough up.

As @RogueFemale says, it's usually either that or undigested or partially digested food. And if you win the "cat vomit" lottery you may find a hairball mixed in with the food - often looks like they've chucked up a turd!

Thank you both - I feel reassured!
