Clock change: is your cat driving you mad ?

She does NOT approve of the switch from BST to GMT, and she’s letting me know it ! Nearly an hour now of demanding dinner at what she considers to be the ‘usual’ time, despite her having had a late breakfast. I’m determined to stick to my guns … resorted to getting her nemesis, the hoover, out on a Sunday ! 🤣

Mine put herself to bed in disgust. I have no doubt she will reappear soon to give me another chance to do the right thing 😆

I am putting my dog's dinner forward by 15 mins for the next 4 days.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/10/2025 17:12

I lack the strength of mind to hold out, so my dog is going to get his dinner 10 or 15 minutes later every day until he’s at the correct time.

Plump82 · 26/10/2025 17:15

Yes! Mine get fed 3 x a day. They usually start their shouting at about 1pm for their 2pm feeding but were literally up in my face before 12 today protesting!

TimetodoEverything · 26/10/2025 17:26

It’s bad enough that a cat’s biological clock is 23 hours without throwing in clock changes.

DH was wondering why they were going loopy at 4pm (dinner normally 5 ish)

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 27/10/2025 09:49

MIne is not impressed. She wanted her food at 5am and my dog also got up in hope..

Nannyfannybanny · 27/10/2025 09:54

No,it's one of our borders collies, she doesn't accept the clock change at all! Mind you,nor does my body or DHs. He seems to bed at 9,was up at one am. I normal ho to bed around 11.30, 10 pm I was fighting my eyes.. went to bed at 11, eventually went to sleep, roughly an hour, was awake from 2-4, then went to sleep, awake and up at 6.30

Allergictoironing · 27/10/2025 10:23

Every clock change either direction I start about a week before and move feeding time by about 10 minutes, so by the time the change comes about they are getting used to it. Doesn't work as well in the mornings as the evenings as they get fed before I even get a cuppa in me plus that's a very fixed routine for them, but better than nothing.

DarkRootsBlue · 27/10/2025 19:27

Mine confidently miaowed in my face at 5am. I can’t even solve it by moving her meal time, she is used to her morning cuddle at 6am, she’s not fussed about breakfast.
