Cat grooming - advice please

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations for hair clippers that work well on long haired cats? I guess as quiet as possible?

My long haired cat just constantly gets matts in his fur. He doesn't hate a brush, but it doesn't really seem to stop the matts forming (he is pretty much entirely outdoors so picks up a fair amount of muck and wildlife).

His winter coat is coming in so only going to get worse from here...

TIA

I wouldnt attempt to clip my own cat. I take mine to a cat groomer

A cat groomer recommended this to me to stop any matting. It does work well.

I've attached a screenshot OP. These clippers are really quiet and safe. I use these in a professional capacity and they are great. I used to spend much more on clippers until I found these.

I had a professional groom every three months or so. I have some clippers for knots in between. I’ll have a look when I get home. My late long haired girl had some terrible hair cuts from me.

Thanks. I do have one of these, and a really useful curved one with inset blades, but one the matts have started around his front and bum cutting them out is the only way - and clippers seem the quickest and safest option.
