Tips for removing dried cat urine

Just found a dried urine patch on the bottom of one my (floor length) white curtains...probably about a month old from when he was ill.

The only time I've ever successfully got out cat urine from fabric/upholstery was when it was left by a female cat and I caught it immediately, so lay on me your tips for dealing with this 🙏

I have cat pee enzyme remover but never found it helpful tbh and this is a set stain

I'm thinking cold water rinse before treating with enzyme treatment and then a cold wash...thoughts?

Soak in biological washing powder. The enzymes in the powder break down the uric acid in the cat pee.

@EchoedSilence thanks I will try that. Any tips for dealing with the carpet - much harder to soak!

I haven't tackled the bit that soaked through to the carpet yet but I think you've saved my curtain - thank you x a million!

Dr Beckman's furniture cleaner for pet stains. Waitrose sell it. It is awesome. It removed a wee from the white lining on my bedroom curtains.

@RosesAndHellebores thank you, they didn't have any in the two supermarkets or pets at home I went to today but I'll try and order it. I ended up with Simple Solution 🤞

I bought a spray on Amazon to break down uric compounds. My cat still weed again on the same mat she weed on when stressed by another cat.
I binned the mat and she's locked in over night with a tray. Problem solved. She loves having her last meal and sleeping peacefully through the night. Stress levels right down again.

Hopefully he won't repeat wee!

He's been going through some stuff - absolutely hates being shut in anywhere, closed doors stress him out so that's not an option right now. I've got him an additional litter tray, lots of feliway and he's been seen by a vet so fingers crossed
