Probiotics and hydrolysed protein diet

Hi. Took my elderly cat to the vet as she seemed to be showing signs of hyperthyroidism. Her blood tests have come back clear but the vet suspects IBD and has suggested trying her on probiotics and a hydrolysed protein diet. Can anyone recommend brands to try please?

Ugh, hope you have a large bank balance! I looked into hydrolysed protein foods when we were investigating Tobias's digestive issues and they cost vast amounts compared to standard decent quality foods of the same make.

From what I can remember, the only "known" brands who do those types of diets are Purina, Royal Canin and Hills; Hills also do a range called "Biome" which is supposed to be very good for digestive issues in cats. The other thing that was suggested was novel protein food, again very expensive.

Neither of my cats would touch any of the above that we tried them on!

Thanks for replying and for the suggestions. She's a very fussy eater but I'll give it a try. Maybe do a bit of both.

Fortiflora probiotic is usually accepted by most cats
