Does anyone use them?
Our first cat is registered with a local vet and is on their equivalent of the pet plan. We recently adopted another and I need to get her registered.

The Vets4Pets pet plan seems to be a couple of £ cheaper and has a couple of extras (claw clipping for example) that our local vet isn’t inclusive of. So it makes sense to switch cat1 and register cat2 there together.

My only reservation is that it is a Pets at Home chain so I’m questioning the quality as well as availability? If I have an issue I ring my current vet and they’ve always had appointments same day. The chain might be busier? The appointment prices seem to be similar in both.

I have used their pet plan for my cat over the past 4 years. They spewed her and then gave annual checkup and jab. I am 100% happy with them.

Spewed = Spayed! Damn predictive text 😩

I pay £15 per month with vets for pets. That includes flea and worm treatments. Initial jabs and, yearly top up jabs. You also have 3 yearly free consultations. Very pleased with their service.

Ok great! We get those with the local vet too but it seems Vets4Pets is tiny bit cheaper. I’ll give them a go - just feels awkward like I’m cheating on our current vet 🤣

Been with our local one for over 10 years as our usual vet was retiring. Never had an issue with them, we’ve always been able to get a same-day appointment (inc when our cat had a stroke overnight & I rang in tears at 9am).

8-yr old cat is on their discontinued life plan which is fab, she’s also on their monthly flea/tick thing which means everything drops through the letterbox. Pooch is on their plan too.

I’ve always found their vets really good, they take time to make the pet comfortable, it’s not just ‘jab and go’ although I did have to pick up pooch early from his snip as apparently he woke really quickly and was just calling for mum (in fairness I could hear him from the front of the store!). Ours have stopped their weekend surgery now which is a bit of a nuisance but the rest is great.

Thank you @Anontocomment
I do recall reading on their website that they’re ‘locally run’ which sort of sounds like a regular vets, they just use their premises etc

yeah we’ve tended to see the same vet over the years, there’s usually two or three on staff at any one time with locums for holidays etc.

ninjahamster · 04/07/2025 14:13

Yep we use them for our dog. Been great.

Ilovemyshed · 04/07/2025 14:21

We use them and have found them to be helpful, the same vet is there regularly and their petplan is cheaper than any of the other vets around.

My cat is with them I paid the £99 vaccs for life, I've saved a lot with that. I've been able to get a same day appointment for an ear infection and they were marvellous with Troy when he was diagnosed with hypertropic cardiomyopathy. I've received sympathy cards over the years, even some for rats that had to be pts. They didn't charge me for one of my rats.

The staff are genuinely caring and parking is easy and free. I haven't had any complaints and I've been with them for about 20 years.

BB78910 · 04/07/2025 21:32

@TroysMammy ah I’m sorry you’ve had to pts, I can’t imagine how that feels. I think you’ve helped me make up my mind, thank you.
