Mouse loose

My bloody cat!
He had brought me in a live mouse, which promptly shot off behind a piece of wood blocking off the chimney breast.

Do I have any hope of the mouse climbing all the way to freedom? Or is it going to die in there and start to smell?

BC (bloody cat) is currently guarding the fireplace and I've left a tall sided tupperware with some peanut butter in there so if it fancies some it shouldn't be able to get back out again until I release it.

Any advice welcome, I'm not fond of mice, last week one scuttled under the TV stand and it took me and BC 2 hours to flush it out and catch it, with much squealing and standing on furniture from me.

Oh no!! I hope the poor thing escapes unaided.
Oh well will just keep an eye out and withhold dreamies from BC

We have this on a momentous scale at the moment. If it wasn’t for the fact I keep seeing her bring them in in her mouth before we get a chance to stop her, I’d assume we have a mouse infestation.

She loses interest very quickly and we have spent a lot of time trying to find and get rid of the mice she’s bringing in. She can go out and be back 3 mins later with a mouse so I assume there is a nest somewhere close by.
