I have three 7 month old kittens,2 tabbies and one little black and white. All short hair.
The black and white one in particular leaves hairs everywhere- her white hairs seem to be long but very straight and smooth.
They stick to everything in the house and are a right pita to get rid of.
looking for a brush/ de shedding tool that works well with this kind of smooth fur.
thanks!🙏🏻

How ... er .... compliant is the cat?

We've got a fairly long haired cat who is currently sporting a no5 grade trim on the bits I could get to, which to be fair was most of the body just not the legs or head. I got a special pet hair clipper from Amazon which is supposedly quieter than normal. She's still shedding, but just not having that last bit of hair makes grooming that much easier for her that it doesn't seem to be as much as before. And it's not like one of those embarrassing lion trims, and I don't have open wounds, so a win-win.

This is similar to the one we have. The hair pops out in a satisfying circle! I brush him every single night, after we've had our dinner - when he hears the dishwasher being loaded he comes and shouts at me until we do it - which really helps keep on top of it.

Oh, also I have a thing from Steamery which is a fancy ass lint roller but without the sticky tape bits - I saw some influencer recommend it and it is honestly a game changer. Our previous cat was pure white and very fluffy which was delightful but not good for my black jeans!

Thank you! My most shedding kitten isn’t Duffy- she is very smooth coated- The shouts hairs are oddly course though and stick to everything. Not sure those brushes would help with a short haired cat?
no- she isn’t very compliant- the kittens don’t sit still- ever!

Our cat isn’t long haired - here he is having a wee dance last night - and that brush still removes a lot of hair. He is very compliant and loves being brushed though.

We have always had short haired cats - but ones wth a LOT of fur and we use furminators (you can buy on amazon). They work well.

But at this time of year, I need to do it practically daily. If I don't, he starts to get a bit manky looking!

I use a nit comb, the cat loves it and it's oddly satisfying.

You need a furminator.

I actually realise I have a furminator! Bought is years ago for my old cat. I have tried it on the kittens- I get about 2 passes on each ( if I am lucky) before they run off. Gets a huge load of fur out especially along their back and tail

You could try a groomi but I think it works similarly to the furminator, it’s what I use for our cats (one long one shorthair) they do get used to it after a while.
