I just wanted to share my very positive experience using the herb Cat's Claw to help my cat who was diagnosed with brain cancer/brain tumor in March 2022. We were told to make the most of the summer with him as he won't live longer than that. There was nothing they could do for him. I did a lot of research on the internet into alternative treatments for cats who have cancer. I came across a herb called Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) that someone had good results for their cat who had a brain tumor. I heard that as a general rule for any substance (and only if you've checked first that the substance is definitely safe for cats) that usually the dose to give is one tenth of that of the average human dose. I ordered some cat's claw (it comes as a powder). First of all I sprinkled the tiniest bit onto his food and stirred it in, just to check for tolerence (which we should all do for any new substance). Then I started him on half a tiny mini scoop (the type used for yogurt starter) twice a day, building up to a full tiny mini scoop. I mixed it in water in a syringe (by putting the powder in the bottom of the syringe and carefully closing it very slowly so the powder doesn't puff out and then sucking up a third of a syringe of water and then shaking it really well) and squirted on his food and stirred it in. Gave him a few days break from it every couple of weeks. Have continued this (with longer breaks at times) and over 3 years later he's still with us. He went from being paralysed to being able to walk again (although has mobility issues).
He is elderly and also has arthritis and this helps with that too. We also give him Turmeric tablet for pets (crushed into a powder and stirred into his food. He doesn't seem to mind the taste) and this seems to help the arthritis too. The most profound effect I've ever seen from any remedy is when we started him on Cat's Claw, there was such a significant improvement that he started to walk again. Disclaimer I should of course say that I am not medically trained and that you should consult your vet for advice on any new treatment you are considering. I hope that someone might find this helpful who is feeling desperate like I was because they've been told there's nothing more that can be done to help. I'm not promising anything because obviously there are different variables in any illness but it's greatly helped my cat and others. And the powder isn't that expensive and lasts ages. Wishing all our animal friends long and happy lives and their human companions
