Annual booster vaccinations

I made an appointment for my 3 cats for their booster vaccinations. It is £92 EACH!
They are inside cats soon to be confined to the garden with cat proofing fence.
Do they really need boosters or is it all just a bit of a money making con?

Your insurance won’t pay out if they get sick from something they should have been vaccinated against.

Is that definitely just the jags? We were £90-something but that was booster/flea/worm. Our boy does go out, although tends not to go far, but tbh I just see it in the same way as paying for a filling at the dentist - a necessary evil!

It's an annual check up plus booster, so the vet will check the cat over for various ailments, lumps and bumps, and check their teeth. The dental check can be very important and avoid more problems later on.

My cats are in a cat proof garden so on the vet's advice I only vaccinate against cat flu, not leukaemia. So you could do that, it should reduce the price.

Must admit seems a little expensive per cat, especially if you're having all 3 done in a group appointment. But yes as a pp said if your cats get anything that could have been prevented by having those jabs then your insurance is invalidated.

I get mine done at separate appointments and if I don't need any flea & worm spot on at the time I think it's around £60-odd?

You would also find it very hard to find a decent cattery to board them if they don't have up to date vaccination certificates, I did ask about once just in case I would need to send mine ever, and was told no even though mine are indoor only. And I still intend to get Girlcat done at her annual MoT, I just can't get Tobias vaccinated any more as it's contraindicated for cats with FIV.
