Cat ate lemon and garlic asparagus

Ok so I realise I may have the most MN cat, her stole a piece of asparagus from my plate yesterday, I'd pretty much finished my dinner but got up to get a glass of water, cat jumped straight up and stole a spear of asparagus. I didn't think much of it, he ate it, but he's a dustbin and eats anything. He was fine last night, had scraps of roast chicken for his dinner with his usual biscuits. The asparagus was cooked with garlic and had lemon juice squirted on it in the pan.
This morning he hasn't eaten his wet food (did eat his biscuits) which really isn't like him and he seems a bit off, just not as energetic as usual.
Google tells me lemon is toxic for cats. He seems a bit quiet, but no drooling or noticeable stomach upset. We have online very appointments with our insurance but can't get one until later.
Will be be ok? Is it the lemon?

If he's eating and toileting I wouldn't worry too much - he may just have a bit of an upset stomach or feel a bit sick.

Timing wise it's a bit late for the vet to do anything really - they need to be seen within an hour or two to be made sick so it's really a case of watch and wait.

I'm sure he'll be fine though - mine have eaten all sorts over the years and it's never been an issue. The amounts you describe are so small that I can't imagine him getting unwell.

Garlic is also toxic to cats, all members of the Allium family (onions etc) are. To be honest I'd be more worried about the garlic than the lemon, but the amount your cat ate of either shouldn't be THAT bad.

Probably as much the asparagus affecting his stomach!

The vet checked him over, definitely not himself he usually tries to climb her shelves. She advocated watch and wait, his gums were a little pale but she said some cats just can be. Having said that since getting home he's eaten some biscuits, attacked a chair, peed in my flower bed and seems much perkier 🤞
