How to keep a plastic cone on?!

Kitten has been neutered today. He will not keep the cone on at all! Doesn't seem too bothered about licking the wound so far and we are getting round it by making sure he is supervised but can't do that overnight.
Do I just need to hope that he doesn't infect himself?
He seems 'fine', was starving and keeps trying to play and run about.

His sister is hissing at him and won't go near him which is really sad but hopefully that will pass once he smells like home again.

Any ideas how to keep the cone on?

I tried confining mine to one room for the afternoon after their spay, but it only lasted a few hours as it they were leaping about in there and getting stressed out. They ran out as soon as I brought in food, and I decided they would risk damaging the stitches much more if I chased them around and shut them in than if I just let them be. When they were allowed free reign of the house, they were much calmer and then spent most of the time sitting quietly by the window or under the sofa.

Just to warn you, ours were adept at removing the medisuits. Several times a day I would have to play 'hunt the vest' after they appeared at my side without it on.

@dementedpixie yes been told to keep them apart, him in a small room no activity for 10 days!
We have two follow up apts. One Thurs and then one next week after 10 days!
And yes I'm expecting to pay for them!

We have someone in doing some work in thr house today so they are both better out of the way but will let him out of his prison tomorrow I think if he seems OK!

So much different advice it's hard to know what to do for the best!

I'm surprised the vet is insisting on two follow up appointments for a neutering!

For ours (which was a spay, so more major surgery) I was asked just to send in photos of the wound after 48 hours and again after 10 days - these were checked over by a nurse for no extra fee. After 10 days they just emailed in response to the photos to say 'yes, all fine they can go back to normal'.

In a hilarious turn of events today, dd and I got home from swimming and she went to let the kittens out. 'Mummy why have you put his cone on?' As he came out wearing the cone!
I had not put the cone on!! I had left it on the top in his room. He must have jumped up and been messing with it and managed to get it on!! No idea if he had just done it or not!

Typical!
😂
Sister cat is still hissing at him so this is a work in progress.

My poor baby lost his eye recently. Not only was the totally traumatised the collar added to his woes as he hated it. Bought this flower from Amazon and it was the best money I've spent in a long time. His eye has healed now thankfully!

Poor boy. But he does look cosy.
