Feeding quantities - help please!

I will soon be welcoming an 8 week old kitten into my home, so I’ve been looking at feeding charts online (it’s many years since I had a kitten - usually rescue adults) and I am completely bewildered!

While most charts agree on the frequency of feeding according to age/weight, they vary wildly on the amount of food that should be given per day.

I’d be so grateful for any guidance you can give/thank you.

8 weeks??? Where are you rescuing her from? I’d find out from them what she’s currently eating.

Yes, I will asking that, and which litter they use, but what I'm looking for is a chart showing how food quantity increases as they grow/get older.

On the kitten food I get they have that information on the back of the box. It probably varies according to the food and its ingredients so I would get some of the food in and see if it says. If you look on Zooplus you can also sometimes see under “feeding guide”, as in the photo. Obviously this guidance assumes you are not also feeding dry.

Thank you so much.

The general rule is that you can't over-feed a kitten. Give them as much as they want, as often as they want it.

Gosh! Really ?

@whyhere yes, pretty much. They do so much growing and have so much energy - our latest kitten was fed six times a day but if we'd not had adult cats in the house, he'd have been free-fed.
