Ragdoll cats are not like typical cats...

I often think that they are like another, separate animal all of their own. Especially the boys. The girls, whilst still docile, are a bit more feisty and do hiss if they are put out by another cat. My boy cats can't physically hiss. One of them has never done it in the 8 years I've had him and the other one made an attempt at it, once and all that came out was this 'ehhhhhhh' sound Grin

Here's another one for @Sunflowersinthewind Here's Pearl, helping me clear out my DD's craft cupboard.

My ragdoll will hiss at his little brother when he’s had enough of him. He’s a big beautiful boy though

I think my Birman boy is very like this. H's very sensitive and cuddly. I can do anything to him such as bathing, nails, etc and he doesn't struggle or complain.

I very much miss my Ragdoll, The Big LeBobski. Or Bob to his friends. He was an outdoor cat when we met him and a rabid (rural) mouser. But he was sooo laid back and lovable and chatty. He would sleep a lot too but then he was practically nocturnal when we first adopted him as he liked to be roaming the outbuildings and leaving 'gifts' for us on the doormat. We once went out for the day, thinking he was outside, put the motion sensor on and came back to find him fast asleep in the kitchen. He must've stayed in the exact same spot all day.

As he got to know us, he began to want to spend more time inside with us but always loved the opportunity to follow us around the garden, chatting the whole time. He would intercept the ball if we were throwing it for our German Shepherd and roll around with it while the dog waited for him to give it up. Bob was such a delight. I'd love another

Have had rescued ragdolls previously they were sweet adorable cats. Had a break for a few years then wanted a rescue ragdoll. I think he was badly treated and had learned to fight teeth and claws. It has taken us a few years but he is a lot calmer. I will always need gloves to groom him. He’s mean with his purring but does like a snuggle and we just adore him. They are definitely more like dogs, love a chat and follows us around.

I've got a half Siamese, tortie tabby. She doesn't know what she is and neither do I.
She's very naughty though so I think some traits are showing through 🙈

My ragdoll is definitely not like any of the moggies I've had. She was silent and then only had a tiny squeak, it was very cute. I think she's hissed twice and she's 10. Once was when her tail was stood on accidentally, because she gets in the way at the worst times. Shes always underfoot and even sits by the shower when I'm in. She's had a few showers herself and is easier to get in the box for the vet.

But then she learned to squawk, and oh boy does she squawk! It drives me nuts. She climbs along any surface, kicking every item on to the floor and squawking to get what she wants. She's very docile with humans, but play fights with our other cat. She loves to catch and play with mice, won't harm them but jumps around them like a leaping lamb. She also puffs up and fights off any other cat seen on our driveway when she accompanies me taking the bins out or gardening. She likes to play fetch too. Her demanding nature can be exhausting, I feel like I got a puppy or a toddler that never grew up.

This was her one night after she woke me up batting everything off the dresser and then laying staring at me till I got up with her 😑
