Poorly cat - advice please

I'm here awake because DD came in at 4am to say Dcat had thrown up on her bed 🙈 He then settled on our bed for half an hour, got up and was sick again. This was followed by another bout. The first time looked like food and the last 2 times have just been foamy.

Whilst I was cleaning up the last one he went in his litter box for a poo - this is highly unusual behaviour as he usually goes outside. His poo was soft but not diarrhoea (apologies if a little TMI for breakfast time!)

He was fine when we went to bed last night and is looking a bit sorry for himself now. He doesn't want stroking and is fluffed up in his hammock on the cat tree. He looks to be squeezing his eyes shut but this could be due to me switching the lights on in the pitch black kitchen!

My question is what to do with him. He's only ever been sick once or twice before and never more than once like this. He does go outside and is a bit of a prolific mouser (catching, playing with and eating) so I suspect something has disagreed with him. He ate his usual food last night and didn't have anything different.

Do I need to get him to the vet today or just see how he goes? Can you tell I'm a panicker???

I'd see how he goes today. He might just have eaten something that disagrees with him

Thank you for the reassurance 💐

He's managed a lik e lix but no other food and has had a potter outside but seems to be a bit better. He looks delicate to me and like he's walking a bit gingerly but DD and DH say it's just me being a hypochondriac! Will keep an eye on him 😊

I would just keep an eye on him at home for now - my experience is that 99% of the time, they improve drastically in 24 hours. If they don't, then I would call the vet (unless they show any other serious sign of being unwell, of course).

Thank you! He has just deposited a headless mouse by his food bowl so I think he's feeling better...🐭

Cats are sometimes quite grim...

Glad he's feeling better! Mine brought me a frozen rat last week 🤢
