Worried about cat being sick

Hi all. Pearl (3 years old) has been sick twice on consecutive mornings. She's eating a little bit and hasn't been sick during the day. She seems to be herself but I'm worried as she hasn't done this before. I adopted her about two months ago so it's all new to me. She was in heat, which finished yesterday. I've got her booked into vets on Monday for a check up pre being neutered, and then she's being neutered on Friday. Any advice welcome regarding the sickness. Many thanks.

What’s in the sick? Fur? Food? Is she sick after eating? Being sick is very normal for cats. As long as she is eating and drinking I wouldn’t worry. Many cats are sick if they have fur in their system or if the floor is too clean. 😆

There could be many reasons. I would mention it to the vet if it's every morning.
Could it be a furball? Is she eating too quickly? It could just be something like that or it could be a sensitivity to the food she's eating.

Thank you for responding so quickly!. That's reassuring. It seems to be after her breakfast. It's the colour of korma and seems to have just food in it. Can't see any fur. She is very fluffy though. Is weeing as usual and had bowel movement yesterday. She's just eating some more of her breakfast now.

Pearl has kibble in the morning and I give her raw food later. She's been OK up until now.

She eats a bit of her food very quickly then goes back and forth to it. She seems back to herself after being on heat. That was am interesting experience over the new year! I've never had a female cat before so all the yawolling was new to me.

Sounds like her system isn’t handling the kibble. Can you give her half her raw (pouch?) for breakfast and then see how she responds? My girl eats PurrForm which has helped her digestion immensely.

Teaandsympathy34 · 07/01/2025 09:02

I'm feeding her the same as the breeder did but bodies can change so I'll play around with her having raw 1st thing.

It's like having a new baby - they can't talk, shes my responsibility, and I love her to pieces! She's sat next to me on the settee now, having a little purr.

Sounds like she's possibly eating too much too quickly. I would maybe reduce the amount. Little and often. Or possibly give her half of her raw food like someone else suggested and see how she gets on.

Mine would very often throw up her breakfast, usually just as I was trying to leave the house! I think she simply gobbled it too fast. It more or less atopped happening when I started feeding smaller quantities more often.

Thanks for all the replies and reassurance. Here's a pic to say thanks.

Mine is sick if he has dry food first, even one tiny piece makes him sick
I have to give him wet in the morning

She’s a little beauty 😻
