Best litter for clean freak cats?

Hi,

I have a new male kitten, first ever boy cat after losing my two girls.
He’s a complete clean freak, I’m using wood pellets at the minute but if he’s already done one wee in the tray he won’t go in again and has taken to weeing in my bath!! This is even worse as he’s long haired so basically he’s covering himself in wee!

Is there a better litter to use than the wood pellets?

thanks ☺️

We used Catsan, we used wood pellets to start off with with our cats but they went off it and it also got stinky really quickly. Catsan is more expensive but doesn’t smell at all

My long haired fussy cat likes tofu litter, mixed with silica crystal litter.

It absorbs really quickly so the urine doesn't get chance to smell.

VanCat

Mine are very fussy 🙄

My ultra picky princesses only use the brand “world’s best cat litter”. If I get anything else they pee and the other stuff outside the litter tray right next to it. Bitter voice of experience and false economies with just about every other litter I can think of. The clay ones, pellets and catsan they refused to used.
worlds best is clumping so easy to clean and scoop out balls of urine and poo is identifiable.

I have a new cat and have been using sanicat clumping cat litter unscented. I've been really impressed with it as you can scoop out clumps when the cat has had a wee. I've also noticed it masks any smell With previous cats I used Catsan and I've found sanicat so much better.

I use "Cats Best Original Litter" for my 2 snobs

Oreosareawful · 22/12/2024 19:48

Clumping litter is your friend. When he’s had a wee you can just take the lump out.
i have four house cats and am currently using Berek Corn Litter from Zooplus. Its the best I’ve found for staying in its clump, not smelling and not tracking around the house (mine have foot fluffs)

RandomMess · 22/12/2024 19:56

Mine prefer VanCat to Worlds Best and it smells even less, win win.

Sayoonara · 22/12/2024 20:54

Agree with Sanicat clumping. Doesn't smell and the cat enjoys digging in it. She hated the wood pellets I think they hurt her feet.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/12/2024 06:22

I use intersand. It clumps really well.

SkankingWombat · 23/12/2024 06:38

How about a second litter tray so he can use that if he needs to go again before his slave has noticed and cleaned up?

I second this. Have tried most litters for my fur babies and this is hands down the best. It's pricey but worth it! Lasts ages too.

Favouritefruits · 23/12/2024 09:29

Sani cat 7 day freshness, it’s not too bad price either!

I find it to have a really overwhelming scent. It is good litter though!

Thanks for all suggestions 😀

Giving Sanicat a whirl today, great news is that he’s used the same tray four times, bad news is that once I remove the clumps he seems to think it’s a sandpit to play in 🤣

we have two trays one covered, one not, I think I will have to invest in a second covered on so he can play in it to his hearts content!

World's best cat litter - lasts for ages, clumps well and doesn't get strewn everywhere.
